I would like to have had the chance to run these awesome machines. Then I would not be able to hear also.

@@EarthmoversofthePast I did it for 50 years. It's awonderful life but it'll beat you to death. Between driving trucks and equipment i shrank from 6'2" to 5'11" or more but a lot of that was Army induced. But I did learn to run cranes in there. Paid a lot of light bills with a drag bucket after I got out. Try anything mechanical. It'll start coming together after a while..Never too late.

@@lewiemcneely9143 We have several people at our Brownsville, PA earthmoving demonstration show that have run these machines of the past and have been experiencing many work-related issues.

Yes, I did contact the HCEA and they did not have any information. Thank you for your effort in finding any data. There was a manual for this machine from one of the previous owners. I need to look in the office to see if it may have been placed there.

It is very loud when you are nearby it. Just an awesome machine to watch.

I always try to get down to the dozer area when he is running this machine. This is my favorite dozer also. I have always wanted to operate this machine, maybe someday. I hope that you like attending our show and plan to return for our May show.

I will definitely return. I didn’t know you guys were down there (I’m in Butler County) until my kids and I found out from Matt at Diesel Creek. The icing on the cake is my entire family can go, learn a bunch of cool stuff about “epibaders” (excavators, as my 2 year old calls anything that moves dirt..) and more so about the history. I’m currently on the hunt for a new hat with the old Euclid logo on it (that’s now much I liked that dozer…)

@@pkmachinegun I travel 250 miles one way from Southern Maryland to this show nominally staying there for about 2 weeks helping to setup for the show and to work on a 1926 crane restoration. The show is a great place for the whole family to enjoy, I would like to add more things for young kids to do during the show. I hope that you find a Euclid hat. I have a lot of the logos from these old machines in SVG format that I have made tee shirts using them. I have not tried to make hats yet. FYI a family membership is about $25 then your families show admission is free.

Thanks, but the Euclid parade was not my video although she did a nice video. She also did a video of two Euclid dozers that I like to watch named "Euclid C-6 and Euclid TC-12 Working Together". I don't know what you mean by the term Blaw-Knox.

This was recorded at the Ramsawak Vineyard in Columbia VA during their 2023 Autumn Festival.

I hope to provide some new video after our August show.

I like to spend some of my time during the show to just watching, but I agree being behind the controls is more exciting. We are always looking for people join our group and learn to operate, maintain and repair these old machines. Some of the owners will allow others to operate their machines if they believe them to be competent.

The short answer is no, but becoming a member of our show and working with the machine owners there is an avenue to operating their machines.

@@EarthmoversofthePast I don't know what it's really called just the boom arm slid up and down.

@@dzl6848 Maybe a skimmer shovel, the bucket was mounted onto the boom, and it could skim across the ground the boom would lift up rotate the boom and trip the door of the bucket to release the material. You have my curiosity of what type of machine it is. I have only been involved with these old machines for about 10 years.

I was told that you are once a man and twice a kid. We have a great time playing in the dirt and demonstrating it to the public. This location is my happy place.

This was a difficult video to record of the 22B because the Lima shovel next to it has a Detroit engine that drowns out everything around it. I planning to post more videos soon and will try to capture better sounds. These types of shows are awesome to be part of.

This shovel is massive. I was there to help to put some of this machine back together after bringing it to our show. The hoist cable was 1-3/8-inch.

We have another Bay City at this show that is a model 45, is at the owners' shop getting a replacement engine. You can see more about this on his TH-cam channel @scrappyindustries. I don't have any knowledge about a company called Poclain. I am somewhat new to all of these shovel companies. I have another Bay City video of a pull shovel in Easton, MD on this channel.

I got a chance to drive the Euclid truck at our last show and it's big and loud but fun to be behind the wheel. The owner of the Lorain recently painted it. There was two different operators in the Lorain during this video. I am not sure about the engine in the truck but am sure it is a Detroit. Hope that you liked this video, I plan post more as it is my first show will be at the end of the month.

@@ray8304 OK, I have several shows that I am planning to attend this year.

Back in August of 2023 I got some time behind the wheel of a Euclid R20 truck moving some broke up asphalt, that was my first time operating a truck that big, hope to get another chance to do it again. I have always like watching and operating old earthmoving machines. Thanks for your comment.

That would do a good job at moving some scrap. Did you buy it with the grapple? I have never tried to operate one of these pull shovels.

These old machines just did not work after dark.

Sorry for the delay in my reply. But there is a Titan 33-15 at the Historical Construction Equipment Association in Bowling Green, Ohio. I don't believe they will be operating this truck at that location which is a disappointment to me. You can find out more about this machine at their web site hcea.net.

When the Detroit are running you can hear them all over our show grounds. This was a fun video for me to record, the muddy day made even more fun. I was hoping to get some time behind the wheel of the rock truck to make some additional video.

Glad you enjoyed it. This event was recorded in Brownsville, PA we have two shows every year. It is so much better to be at the show then to watch these videos. Our show is open to the public and the admission is only 7 dollars. We have several locations that you can watch these machines operating that have park benches and shade trees. I call this place my happy place.

We have several of these machines at our show and I got a change to drive one dump trucks this year to move some old asphalt, it was fun to drive around our haul roads.

I don't know a lot about this machine, the owners run it during our shows.

That would make sense, but this would be the one of the methods trucks would have been loaded in the past because the shovel would normally be in the cut. Also, this demonstration would have been more realistic if the pile was a lot higher.

If you are near the Brownville, PA area we have two shows with over 100 antique construction machines operating during the show to watch. We may be able to allow him to ride on one or more of these machines if it is ok with you. I am planning to post more of these types of videos as I attend these shows. If you son likes to watch these machines on TH-cam just do a search for "National Pike Show" and there should be over 100 videos to watch.

I did not see you there. It was almost impossible to see what was going on in the back of the digging area.

I beat it was awesome to ride on one of his machines at a young age. I always enjoy watching dozers push dirt, the sounds the power and the dirt smell for some reason it is relaxing for me. When I'm video recording, I sometimes watch the dozers only and end up with a lot of the dozer out of the video frame. Thanks for your comment.

We definitely need more room for all the shovels that are there and showing up at the show. Now we just need more trucks to load. Wished that you could have made the no-show show but as always, the two days went by quickly.

I have not had a chance to watch closely the operation of this machine.

This was a recording done after the show and I was not fully ready to record this event. Hope that this machine has a chance to get out of the shed in the future events.

Thanks for answering that question . I am at Brownsville now and I looked at the other Lorain shovel and I am not sure why I stated in my last email about the engine components being difficuit to access. But there is a yellow jackets nest in the air filter so don't get stung.@@73DiamondReo
