Master Gracey's Manor Solo (Andy Wood)
Master Gracey's Manor solo from Andy Wood's new album Charisma. This thing is a handful and needs a little cleanup, but coming along. Video is lower quality---just shot with a cell phone in a dimly lit bedroom.

Finally Free Solo
มุมมอง 2899 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've been working up some old Petrucci solos. This one is from Finally Free off of Scenes from a Memory. All guitar tones are from TONEX. The lead tone is a profile my Mark V using the John Petrucci's Tone Mission IRs (LTE). Rhythm tone is from Emil Rohbe's JP2C pack combined with the Tone Mission LTE IR. #dreamtheater #johnpetrucci #guitarsolo #tonex #tonexpedal

This video shows you how to make an fx insert box for your pedalboard. This helpful utility lets you patch in-and-out pedals without having to rewire your board. Below are links to some materials to build one of these boxes. The cost per box should be about $10 or less, assuming you have basic soldering supplies. If you don't, this is a great first project. Just a quick video of test cutting a guitar body on the CNC. Overall, I'm pleased with how it turned out, although I learn something new with each cut. Now time for sanding! Actual feed rates were 75IPM and ~0.1" depth per pass with 40% stepover.

Sounding great, man. Can tell you worked hard on getting the phrasing down. Also love that Rock Discipline lick at :43!
Jay Great Work!!
Killing it, Jay!!!
Thanks!
How long did that take too learn?
@@teddefeo9440 I started around last November or so. Had it roughly under my fingers earlier this year.
You rock it, how did you get the backing track?
@@diegotrovetti4040 Thanks! A perk of being part of Andy's Patreon community. He'll be selling on his website soon.
You kick ass. That was awesome
I had no idea Guitar Pro even had this feature. I’ve been using Transcribe instead for years but this is going to save me so much time. Thanks for sharing
@@PolyCrafts01 It was a game changer when it came out. I still use Transcribe for transcribing from videos, but I agree--this saves sooo much time.
Great playing! Were you able to purchase the transcription?
@@gjtube37 Thanks! I was lucky enough to watch this song be written as part of Andy's Patreon group, so I personally transcribed it months ago and have been working on it for a while. However, the official transcriptions should be hitting Andy's site soon. They were done by Levi Clay.
@@jaysmoreymusic Thanks very much for the quick reply! Great job with your transcription. You play really well! You also have a great right hand. That looks like a lot if years of work just on that. That's also great news about Levi Clay doing the transcriptions. I always wondered who did them and we know that they will be accurate. Thanks again and all the best! Keep up the great playing!
Jay that was awesome!! Nice work
Jay INCREDIBLE job you nailed this!!!
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Hi, thanks for sharing this. I have the same audiobox usb and i use reaper for the DAW. However, when i click on preferences it doesnt show the input, could you help me with this? Maybe i can get your email? Thanks in advance
@@dewapandita7926 Assuming you have the drivers installed from PreSonus, make sure you are selecting "ASIO" in the top box in audio preferences. That will change the options you see for devices to select. If you still don't see it, make sure you are using a short USb cable. I want to say that AudioBox only works on cables up to 3ft long.
I Jay, thanks for your video! When I adjust the tempo to make it slower, it doesn't slow down the attached audio file. It only slows down the guitar pro notation. What setting needs to be made in order for that to work?
This is useful thanks. Just next time it's worth having a track that doesn't have all the audience noise as I struggle to hear the notes that you are transcribing. I need to learn more about working with the time signature and getting the right number of beats to the bar.
Really helpful - thank you!
Having perfect pitch helps, too, which it appears you have. You started off immediately with the "F", not searching for the starting note. Also called the F7 @ "All In" without testing.
Far from perfect pitch. I actually started focusing on transcribing a little over a year ago for the purpose of improving my hear. It was brutal when I started, but it has helped me go from hearing one note at a time to small chunks of notes. My personal goal is to keep at it to hear a whole phrase at a time, which will make it easier to internalize songs. But I'm early on in this journey!
@@jaysmoreymusic You've given me motivation, since I don't have PP either. Thanks.
i am going to try my very hardest to get this to work!! how you explained it was very clear and i retained it. thank you very much! may i ask questions if i have them?
Thanks. This is the best instruction I've found on how to use audio tracks. I hope that you make more Guitar Pro 8 videos.
Good stuff, Jay!
😊 dónde lo puedo conseguir este programa amigo saludos gracias
This is killer information Jay!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I'm using jack card pcbs from an old patch bay to put inserts on my board.
Sounds great, Jay
Was helpful, thanks
For some reason its telling me my inputs are not connected, any ideas of what may be causing this?
It's hard to tell without seeing screenshots. If you are using a USB-powered audio interface (i.e. it doesn't have a separate power supply), I have run into issues where the USB cable length needs to be no more than 3ft. If you are on a PC, you can go into Device Manager to verify whether the computer successfully recognizes the interface.
Awesome Jay!!!!
Nicely done!
I have a problem when I export .gp file to midi and load it to my DAW the time is off , example I have a GP tab that's 4:37 in length I export the midi and load it to my DAW and the file is 6:10 ! Help !!!
Check to see if the tempo in your DAW is the same as the tempo in Guitar Pro.
Awesome playing Jay!!! Sounds great!
Thanks!
💪💪💪
Great job, Jay!!
Thanks!
I could use a good tutorial like this to get my E-Drums that I use through superior Drummer 3 into Reaper. lol I have been trying for days.
When I hold down my arrow key, my Mac computer do it as fast as yours, it kinda thinks a lot before adding the bar. It's a high end Mac Studio. Do you know what could be the cause? Something indicates me that I'm doing something wrong
I'm not as familiar with Mac's OS, so unfortunately I don't have a good answer for you. Only thing I can think of is to check the menus for the Insert New Bar keyboard shortcut and hold that down.
Can you do a harder song please? I am really struggling to transcribe a hard song. I cannot even find the correct beat. :/
This was excellent. Got me set up in no time. If you sold a course, I'd buy it!
I really like how thorough the explanation is, nice work Jay!
This is awesome Jay!
Thanks!
Why does the BPM change on the playheads when synching?
The some in this video was not recorded to a click, so the actual tempo varies. The tempo set for the entire score notated at the top represents a rough or average tempo. When aligning the bars at the bottom, the values displayed above the bars in the audio track in this section represent the actual tempo.
Excellent video! Thank you!
very Cool!
Thanks!
Why the tones are not coming automatically to the tab?
I'm sorry, but can you rephrase your question? I'm not sure what you are asking.
@@jaysmoreymusic don't understand why, while transcribing or writing the notes on the staffs, you had to manually add them. (From the video I watched, I'm unsure if the software is providing feedback, such as how many notes were played and their relative variations from the original key signature as you had initiated.) I think there has to be a way you didn't emphasize else it would be difficult for ordinary person like me to get a simple guitar tab without sheet music notation knowledge. If the software offers such simple functions, I will undoubtedly choose to purchase it. I appreciate you taking the time to respond
The software requires you to do the notation. The audio import is just a helpful feature so you can hear if your transcription is correct. It does not auto-transcribe. That said, many artists sell their album transcriptions in Guitar Pro format, and you can import the album audio into Guitar Pro to play along with, loop bars, slow down, etc.
