John Williams Isolated Score Reading 📖 The Map 🗺️
The Year 2130
"Oh, Andy loved geology. I imagine it appealed to his meticulous nature. An ice age here, million years of mountain building there. Geology is the study of pressure and time. That's all it takes really, pressure, and time. That, and a big goddamn poster. Like I said, in prison a man will do most anything to keep his mind occupied. Turns out Andy's favorite hobby was totin' his wall out into the exercise yard, a handful at a time. I guess after Tommy was killed, Andy decided he'd been here just about long enough. Andy did like he was told, buffed those shoes to a high mirror shine. The guards simply didn't notice. Neither did I... I mean, seriously, how often do you really look at a mans shoes?"
"In 1966, Andy Dufresne escaped from Shawshank prison. All they found of him was a muddy set of prison clothes, a bar of soap, and an old rock hammer, damn near worn down to the nub. I remember thinking it would take a man six hundred years to tunnel through the wall with it. Old Andy did it in less than twenty."
"I´d like to think that the last thing that went through his head, other than that bullet, was to wonder how the hell Andy Dufresne ever got the best of him."
"Andy crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of shit smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. Five hundred yards... that's the length of five football fields, just shy of half a mile." 💩🤢🤮
"I have some long nights in the stir, alone in the dark with nothing but your thoughts, time can roll out like a blade... That was the longest night of my life."
Pretty neat to hear the voice of the orchestra at the end :p
"The first night's the toughest, no doubt about it. They march you in naked as the day you were born, skin burning and half blind from that delousing shit they throw on you, and when they put you in that cell, when those bars slam home, that's when you know it's for real. Old life blown away in the blink of an eye. Nothing left but all the time in the world to think about it. Most new fish come close to madness the first night. Somebody always breaks down crying. Happens every time."
2:12-3:12 I really enjoy this part of the track, because of that slow build up to… 3:12-3:44 The haunting moment Frank sees his coffin about to be cremated and then shouts 🔥“Don’t let them burn me! PLEASE DONT LET THEM BURN ME!”🔥
Ray: I know you want to fight... I know it seems like you have to, but you don't! YOU DON'T!!!!! 😡😟😢

I always say the 2005 scores are when you can really hear the seeds of 2010s John Williams be planted. There are hints of Book Thief and Lincoln in here, along with some DNA of Saving Private Ryan from the 90s. Love it!
"ג'יני היא אמא שלך, וצ'יף הוא האבא שלך" - Hai" (The Island), a tv series which used this soundtrack for this moment" "האי"
Two years before winning an Oscar for Beautiful Mind for both Howard and Grazer.
1:24 Ah when he's biting to death
I need a cigarette 🤗
0:40 Sound just like Danny elfman did very similar approach to the Carnival from Hell track from soundtrack to the movie "Darkman"
My favorite version!
Harry Manfredini

This really sets up everything that follows. We're grounded in an atmospheric opening scene, so the wacky hijinks later really take off. The normal preps us for the lunacy.
Goldsmith got into some weird synth sounds in the 80s, but this score uses them really well.
@@JohnInTheShelter I love Goldsmith, but he really did get wacky. As you said though, the strangeness of this score really works in tandem with the film!
Epic..?
Holymoly...i was eight years old...and loved this movie so much!
01:07 "Hi"
5:28 to 6:05 my god, the use of the strings here absolutely slays. If i was playing this, I'd probably break the instrument with how aggressive and tense this part is. Walker did a great job.
Hell yes, this comment made my day.

The problem with so many movie soundtracks are that the movies aren't operas. Just sitting quietly and listening to the soundtrack is tedious. Compare to listening to an actual opera like Star Wars.
@@darrennew8211 not for those who enjoy em like myself ;)
Beautiful soundtrack
0:20 Keep it down, were in a church.
0:00 New Arrival!!! New Arrival!!!
Have you found the mp3 version of this soundtrack?😁
I do NOT know why people hated this movie. Stunning cinematography and camera work, horrifying and nightmarish soundtrack, perfect mix of practical+CGI effects so that everything looked perfectly real, a script with relatable dialogue and character moments... iconic director, composer, movie stars... based on a classic piece of literature... like, what was NOT to love? Was it JUST because it was set in the modern age when the book was set in the Victorian era? I don't understand how that's enough to harp on it as much as people did. Classic book, great updated movie. One of my favorites and I watch it regularly.
@@MyaPapaya perfectly put. I’ve always loved and been quite disturbed by this film, so it makes my day to know that I’m not alone in my enjoyment!
@ 00:59 “No…”
Very entertaining and a very good funny film 😂😂😂, the soundtrack is great, could do with several " ack ack ack ackackack " in this soundtrack 😂😂😂
still appalled how there isn’t an official instrumental album release outside of these, it makes me so annoyed
i’ll probably try to compile all the instrumentals and some instrumental demos into its own non-youtube playlist at somepoint probably,
