Val, I wish you would continue to do these videos. You’ve interviewed some amazing people. And there are people that can benefit from these interviews. You’ve always said I’m an amazing mom. Yet all of my black children are successful because they had you in their lives for years. They were Blessed to be best friends with your kids and still have those relationships that are important to them till this day. My kids also had the opportunity of watching how intelligent, amazing and hardworking you are. All 4 of my children are so accomplished thanks to you being the Million Dollar Mom! We all appreciate your unconditional love. And I appreciate sharing my children with you. More so to watch their success because of it. I wanted to leave this message on your “million dollar mom” video. But the comments are turned off. Love you Val! ♥️♥️♥️

Great interview clip - still waiting for your new album Vanessa!!

George was called Mo'head as a kid and didn't know why his siblings called him that. He later found out his fathers surname was Moorehead and his siblings with their Texan accent said it as Mo'head. They all knew he wasn't their full sibling and teased him with it without him knowing what they were talking about.

I am glad to see this video because I have been thinking about my life and the 'death' of things that you mourn. You have to go through the grieving process and realize that you still have things to do in life. You are still alive. I like her comment of knowing who you are. That is real. You have to decide on what type of person you want to be. Do you want to be an optimistic person or a pessimist. It is up to you to decide. Her parents not passing judgment on her was a blessing and the fact that she had family support. I am glad she became successful.

This was my mother-in-law. She tried to live life to the fullest. She died just short of her 97th birthday on May 2, 2020.

It's an eye opening reality for Black Americans/CDNs. While the opportunities look to be on par with every one else there is also still the hate. Jealousy. Racism. Because VW won Miss America (which showed the judges weren't racist) there were people that didn't want to see any Black woman win. Even if to many she looked mixed. And many I'm sure thought she was mixed race but isn't. Just happens to be vjery light skinned and have facial features more resembling a white woman. More so in this video wearing less makeup. I'm sure there were some "critics" that thought she won Miss America..or was able to...because she din't look "fully Black". Jealousy. I admit to thinking that at the time though I harbour no ill will against Black people. I felt at that time the US wasn't ready. And we weren't. As evidenced by death threats. Not even for a woman with lighter skin.

Vanessa, your a beautiful human being inside and out. People sometimes do things for reasons we know not of. When I was 21 I was living up north but from Orange County. I broke up with someone I was with for 4 years and didn't know what to do. I saw and ad in a magazine and needed quick money so I drove to the Hollywood Hills and did some nude modeling stuff for a magazine. I got the money I needed. Signed the model release form. I was told that if I wanted to do more to give them a call but never did. To this day I never actually saw the photos or where they went. That was in the early 80's too. It helped me figure out what I was going to do next on my own. I think I'm still a good person, so I never really think about it But I will never forget it either. The people were nice to me. That meant more to me at that time than anything.

Enough already with the pics! Move on!! It was 100 years ago.🙄
