That's when the game hits you with the most iconic Bad Cop ending.

A very fun boss fight! If you want to kill the gonome the first time you meet him, leave Wilson in the room prior, and bring all the flammable barrels into the room with the corpse and phytoplankton. Put them all in the pit and kick the corpse in there as well. Then activate the trigger sequence by bringing Wilson in. The gonome will kill itself by jumping on all the barrels when it goes to eat the corpse. :)))
