So I used a anti-rust product on the bare metal and then I applied a small amount of loctite silicon to help protect from water intrusion into the holes I drilled 👍 thanks for the comment

Yeah, I know, I’m most likely gonna remove them and use rivnuts, I was following manufacturer recommendations and it’s just part of a secondary bracket not really providing much support or force worst case I’ll install rivnuts. Thanks for the comment

@ I'm gonna counter and say 1m above the hood the air is just as bad and dusty, and that factory airboxes work incredibly well. If you always use paper filters like you are supposed to, and change them regularly, your engine won't die to dust inhalation.

That is correct! Where or when was it implied that the silicone would prevent rust 😂 the silicone is to help prevent water intrusion, an anti-rust product was applied to the bare metal. Thanks for watching.
