Nice message Aunt Shane! What it spoke to me was that Love is the final piece that brings it all together. As a financial coach, I tell people all the time the importance of taking action. However, when I know they are Christian or receptive to hearing it, I remind them that faith is dead without action. But you just made me realize, just like it says in the Bible, it doesn't matter how much faith you have. If you're not doing it with love, it is worthless. That's very profound because how many times do we walk in faith having the hope it will work out a certain way & then it doesn't? Many times the reason why is we weren't walking with Love in the equation. It's just like your boot analogy. When you do something out of love, it affects both the giver & the receiver. When the giver expects nothing in return OUT OF LOVE, the action taken in Love speaks to the givers character while the receivers acceptance of the gift speaks to their growth. And as we know, it takes time to grow, so the giver may not see the positive impact the gift has on the receiver until later. This is why Love is the most important part of the equation. Love is selfless, not selfish. If the giver has a certain expectation from giving the gift, that then becomes a selfish act. They can have as much faith & hope that they want, giving the gift without love becomes mute and therefore meaningless because they had a preconceived expectation of a certain result from giving the gift.
