@@charliecoco2115 the light in fitted into the bootlid, problem is the 2 10mm nuts behind the black plugs are extra help to hold it on as its actually bonded on.. I had to ease a bit of it off to get the light back in.. 😀

@@normanstephens5391 I realised as soon as I pulled the wiring out I had forgotten to tie a cable to them first 🤣 A lot of struggling was edited out 🤣

@@a11csc Absolutely true... Its finished now, just put the wiper and trim back on now..

@@split_pin Yeah wasn't great.. Lot of wires and plugs, stiffening braces in the top corners were like barbs and everything got stuck.. I edited about 30 mins out and 28 of that was getting the wiring through 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@homerfj1100 Yeah been there done that too... Blew my Mk1 Escort engine up on my way home from work.. towed home and set about swapping the Engine box and exhaust from my 1100 MK1 into the slightly modified Mk1 so I could get to work the next day.. finished at 2am, up again at 7 🤣

@@barthomer1000 they are generally reliable, and I have since fixed it, drives fine again now. Split EGR flexi pipe so air flow meter reading 3k revs so ecu fuelling for 3k revs with a turbo running.. No turbo running as all the exhaust gasses were blowing out sideways before the turbo

These sort of videos are more to show the bigger picture but I do need to show actual jobs rather than here's one I prepared earlier 🤣🤣 Part 2 will be a quick recap of the footage I lost or didn't actually record today 😳

@@steventhomson7531 plenty about but as you say the wrong colour then it gets expensive.. I guess a reasonable home paint job would be better than holes.. it wasn't that bad but a local car wash blasted the loose bits off with the jetwash last week 🤣

@@Mickhanic-garage I can imagine that's a difficult colour to match too. If you do replace it, remove the boot with the hinges attached (2 x 13mm nuts in the roof), as the torx bolts going into the boot lid and loctited in and just round out.

@steventhomson7531 after 15 mins trawlingbthe Internet I have found one the right colour.. the only one anywhere so making plans to fetch it all being well

@@steverayner1331 had a look, they are available but non this colour so far... Wrong colour it would end up looking like a Cortina from 1986 🤣

Cheers, was a quick job as the temperature was dropping, it looks a lot better and it was Lacquer left over from the 75 sill repair.. Did the patch on the roof and bonner too, they will need blending in bit.. The 107 has been great, she had it 2 years and it's had a clutch when we first bought it, set of 4 tyres and now the wheel bearing.. Oh and 2 coil packs.. 114k miles but drives great. The Mini is fun to drive and feels solid on the road.. Can only imagine what the Cooper S are like 😃

@@steverayner1331 I remember the MAF change.. This is flat and hardly accelerates, the smoke is unburnt fuel and makes my eyes sting.. It seems better tonight. Can't get into the engine diagnostics, I told it that it was a 2003 BMW 320D and got into most of thr car but not the engine. Tried it as a Freelander, it listed engine ecu's but wouldn't connect..

@armannvanhelden4884 I have my suspicion on what's wrong but didn't have time to go any further tonight. The Wartburg will be far easier than this to sort out 🤣

@@split_pin It's about all it can be really.. I'm going to sort the blowing manifold easily all being well.. Needs bottom arms and another tyre or 2..all adding up on a cheap car

@Mickhanic-garage If you do decide to get new bottom arms, go for ones from DMGRS. They say that cheaper ones will be knocking again in 6 months, guess who found this out the hard way 😅

@@lucythemoggy1970 that would be ideal but I had to wait for parts for months for the Skoda as I couldn't find them and then when I did I was skintbso had to wait. I do bits here and there on the Trabant as that's just a long term thing. The 207 slowed things down a bit but after the Rover I'm not buying anything else until I have made progress with the others. The Wartburg only needs a day's work to sort all the brakes, they work but need the calipers rebuilding and the boots have perished and the rear shoes need reclining, rear wheel bearing and see if the rear hub is bent. The little 107 might get sold as is, and yet to see with the Rover.. using it for now but more and more issues are coming to light, and issues mean money...

@@split_pin It starts and idles well, no smoke or anything even when you have your foot flat but a fluttering noise like it's restricted and in normal drive it can't push past it.. no kickdown at 2000 rpm unless it's in sport then it kicks down and over 2220 rpm pulls well, it's a gradual smooth increase as it boosts not a sudden push. It's sooty down the back of the engine and you can smell fumes in the car. No management lights and sounds fine other then the stiffled sort of sound at full throttle.. let it off it doesn't change the speed but changes the sound.. I haven't opened the bonnet yet as it was cold and dark when I got back..

@Mickhanic-garage I'd definitely start with checking/ replacing the PCV.

@@split_pin will have a look and make sure the exhaust manifold is tight on the head.. Will be easy enough to see where it's leaking with a torch, see the exhaust fumes..

@@Mickhanic-garage I've just fixed my diesel, not a 75. Went through all of the suggestions. Took off the top plastic covers and it was a leaking injector seal.

@@John-oi8mt one was replaced recently, I suggested changing the other 2 but she gets a newer car this week so didn't want to spend the extra

Both these cars will be for sale soon, if only I knew someone who collects cars 🤔🤣
