Why online auctions and insomnia don't mix
Keep getting those boxes my dude, and I hope you score soon. I've had insane luck recently, but I've also had several boxes lately like this, maybe 50-60 NIFC's and I only keep those if I need them for my book. Picked up a box of nickels today after watching your hunts by the way. We'll see how it goes.
I was talking to a bank teller about star notes. Couple weeks later i stop by, she had saved me a star note, so cool....i wasnt prepared for it being a $50.00 bill. Ha ha. I snagged it and put it away
I have a star note 5 dollar bill but don't know if it's worth anything
www.mycurrencycollection.com/ can tell you is it is a rare run of star notes. You might also watch @BlueRidgeSilverHound Market Watch updates. He goes over what coins and currency are currently selling for on eBay and other auctions. I have not sold any yet, so I can not tell you what it might sell for.
Don't forget to check for web notes in Series 1988A, 1993, and 1995. Your 1995 was not a web note.
I look for that, I just forget to say that I am. Thanks for the reminder.
I have 1 dollar
They are fun to find. You chaeck the rarity of it at www.mycurrencycollection.com/
I have one dollar the # L 54616466 C
For more information on what to look for in Dollar hunts, visit this site. It looks up star notes and has sections on the other types of fancy serial numbers. www.mycurrencycollection.com/reference/star-notes/lookup
That was a fun box of nickels. Amazes me those V nickels are still circulating.
I like you hunts.
@@CoinAnxiety Thanks! I may have to get a box of nickels after watching yours.
How do you know if they are primaries?
Did I call something a primary? www.mycurrencycollection.com gives general information on what people collect in modern currency. There are a lot of youtube videos on what to look for. BlueRidgeSilverHound has weekly market watch updates where he covers what has been selling in coins and currency on ebay and the higher end auction sites.
You probably mean trinaries. A SN made up of just 3 numbers is a trinary. Example at 6:20 is 60110600.
How do you know if you have any that is worth anything and if it is a Star Note?
The Star Notes have a star at the end of the serial number, instead of a letter from A-Z. The leter at the end indicates what run they were printed on. A is the first run, B the second and so on. Star notes are reprints of notes that were damages during the original run. As for worth, I can't know for sure until I try to sell them. I can look at what similar notes have sold for on eBay or Great Collections, but it is just a guess until they sell.
Don’t trust CC it said Annex for Anacs 🤣
There is a web site for star notes and general curency info. They don't give values, just how rare it might be. To get an idea on value, youo can see what they have sold for on ebay. www.mycurrencycollection.com
I have one that has 5 7's 😊
7, 3 and 8's are values as lucky numbers in different cultures. If you are starting a collection, that is a good start.
DH
Nice additions to add to your collection GD
Thanks 👍
The 21212725 is an alternator because the 2 repeats every other number. It’s worth a few dollars. Nice finds!
Thanks. I am still learning the ropes of collecting bills.
Always love seeing what others find in their searches
Don't watch my half dollar hunts. There is no joy in them. 6 cases of halves so far and one proof, one DDO and about 30 NIFCs.There is no silver in the Houston area, except in the nickel cases.
@@CoinAnxiety Sorry to hear you are striking out on those searches. I gave up on searching halves in my area a long time ago, I was not finding anything worthwhile and it was just a pain to haul them back to the back. Currency searches just seem to be more rewarding for me and easier to turn back into the bank for more. Happy Hunting GD
😢
excellent vid, thanks.
Glad you liked it!
you know it's a coin noob about to lose money when they have a rob finds treasure coin roll hunting mat lmao
Too bad you didn't find a Buffalo for the Trifecta. Awesome hunt for sure!!! Finding a V is great.
Can't have it all. I did find more silver here that I have i 4 cases of half dollars, so I still have that.
I have one pc. Of this Kennedy half dollar 1965 silver.
I have some of the silver halves, 1964-1970, in mint sets, but I have not found any coin roll hunting yet.
you have a great collection going, awesome :)
Thank you 😁
I found one the other day
I get them in change every now and then. I have not tried to sell any of them yet, so I don't know if any of the ones I have are more than a novelty.
I love hunting bills myself. It's cool to see what other people are finding! Great video.
Thanks. It seems a little less stressing than going through coins, probably because they are bigger and my old eyes can see them better.
Don’t feel to bad , 20 people had to take a hit so 1 person can have a win . If you have the money to buy these you have the money to just buy the coin you really want straight out . Haven’t you noticed the only people who ever win big on these are the big name utubers or the whatnot app channel where they sell each vaultbox for around $650-$750 US each . Play dumb games you win silly prizes lol .
I do it for fun. I could have wasted the money on the lottery and had nothing to show for it. This way, I have a coin woth $180 to $300, so not a total loss.
Good hunt. I've been on the silver lately, but I've also had several boxes just like this one.
Thanks for sharing your misery. I follow the advice of Ben the Coin Geek: if you want to buy coins and have them graded, buy them already graded in the reputable TPG grading company’s holder that you want. It’s pure gambling to hope for the intended grade or crossover result you want. In my opinion, the reputable TPG’s are PCGS, NGC and CACG, followed distantly by ANACS. ICG, SEGS and a host of others will never be in my collection. By the way, nice score on the two early obverse mintmark Walkers. Gave you a like and sub.
I had never sent anything in to get certified before and just wanted to verify what I had. I thought the Morgan and Peace dollars were going to be detail coins. I was happily suprised by the Morgan. The other coins I wanted to verify my finds. I was right on 4 and wrong on 3. Since I was testing the water, I went with the least expensive company. I watch The Coin Geek and several other coin/stacker channels. When I get a couple of more coins worth it, I will give PCGS a try. I do have a couple of Morgans, halves and quarters in NGC holders and several modern proof and MS 65-66 coinns in PCGS.
Hey, Just wanted to say if you're interested in selling I'd be interested. I got the 56 Type 2 out of Series 7 and I'm trying to complete the set. Let me know and we can work something out!
Here is another TH-camr that has the 1963 one. If you get close on the bounty, let me know and we can work something out. th-cam.com/video/crjC2IVBrPY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6WW5lsxOS2lEnrGC
I just did 1 box, only 1 wheat cent. I almost did not upload the videos. I also somewhat shy on the copper. Glad you had better luck than I did.
I have had a couple of boring hunts. I try to add something else at the end when that happens, like going over a book or recent purchases to make it a little more interesting. Don't lose hope. I have been through 4 cases of half dollars, $2000 dollars worth, one case of Quarters and a case of dimes and I have only found siler in the nickel searches.
Respectfully, maybe you should spend some of your time telling us about your microscope.
Don't get it. The USB port on it broke the first time I plugged a cable into it. Got it replaced and the new one did the same thing. I now just keep 4 rechargeable batteries for it, charging two of them while I use the other 2. Because the USB port is bad, I can't plug it into my computer. I have bought 3 microscopes and still don't have one I think is good.
@@CoinAnxiety WOW! Now this is the type of news reading about. Please tell me when you find one that works properly. Take care.
RFT supporter? I see.
I don't have any idea what you are referring to... I do follow your channel. Thanks for the visit.
On line auctions are fine if you have a reputable auction house, and you need to do your research before you start buying , I recommend going to shows and viewing coins
There is big show across town in 2 weeks. I am taking a rest from online auctions until then.
Not bragging at all but I recently got an NGC45 1858 S half dollar for less than this coin. Just an example of what another form of gambling can bring...
Thanks for the video. Good information 👍
Nice quick video. Excellent
Glad you liked it!
Got on just like this except mine has full bell lines.how yours so pricy, and no bell lines??🤥
Proof coins are supposed to always have full bell lines. Only business strikes get the label for better strikes.
I have a 1960 coin for sale, can you show me ?
You need to try a different a different bank if you've gone 4 weeks and you're not getting anything you should probably try to order them from somewhere else.
I will be switching banks in a month or so. Maybe that will help.
DUD x 3.Is it really worth the hassle of lugging these coins backnforth to the banks week after week...............???????
It happens
REMEMBER THE COIN SHORTAGE?...SILVER PROBABLY PULLED
Good attempt. Patience is key.
I CRH 6 boxes of halves weekly. Last 12 boxes complete skunks with the exception of one 1999 clad proof. On top of that, the Fed is flooding the market with 2023s. I've had three banks call me because Brinks delivered halves to them without them ordering. All new 23s.
I haven't gotten a silver coin in my change in at least the last 40 years. 😕
Ya i usually knock down a couple grades. I have definitely paid more for coins than they are worth at auctions. Also got some good deals. It is what it is
Why are you quoting PCGS prices for ANACS slabs?
I mean there basically the same minus 4 or 5 bucks
@@fatlostmedia1376 I disagree.
Two reasons. I don't know of a free online price guide for ANACS coins and, for the lower end coins, the prices are pretty close. If I decide to sell the 1878 Morgan, I will probably have it crossed to PCGS. Right now, I don't have any other coins that would benifit enough for the added $20+/coin that the PCGS cert would cost. I am open to any price guide that has an ANACS listing.
awesome that you disclose paid prices for reference!! awesome video, those f2 p1 grades sell for more due to competition in lowball registry sets, ag3 also.
Thanks. I got them certified because the date is hard to read and I wanted there identity verified.
The reality of crh!!🥵🤓🪙🤩 When is done for the fun/ chase/ hobby is not annoying finding nothing, but when is done for profit then is disappointing.🤓🤩
Surprised ANACS didnt put the "BN" designation for brown on the 1941
No 'FG' must not have any remnant. Period.
I don't know what I was looking at when I sent them in. I would swear that there was no FG, but it was there plain as day when I got them back. MAde me go back an look at every no FG I though I had found and look again. I had to remove some gunk and PVC from a couple, but there was a "G" bump on every one. I think it is the angle my scope looks at them. If I use a loop at afrom the side of the coin, I was able to easily see the bumps.
Not the Best. But 69 is great in Benji
