It's a small world
I know the melody. It belongs to a German song called „Guten Abend, gut‘ Nacht, mit Rosen bedacht ...“ The first lyrics are from Brahms and the song was called a “Wiegenlied” (a song making children sleep). The TH-cam-Video plays the song too slow.

The song is called "Yellowbird" but this, (and mine), music box version is slower than the time realeased in 1969 by the Nashville String Band. It was a very popular tune with lyrics added and also instrumental versions. I found this TH-cam post by searching for the same numbers and my version is even slower! The tune was also used in a series of airline commercials promoting traveling to the tropics.🌴
You don't understand how much this means to my mom! She has been trying to remember the song for the last decade. She inherited the music box from her late father and she couldn't put her finger on the name of the song. Just knew it made her happy and was sad it was breaking before she could figure out the name.When I showed her the song this morning she was brought to tears remembering her father. he used to sing her yellowbird when she was a little girl. It was a special moment. Seriously thank you for commenting the name! this meant so much to my mom!
