Wtf is happening with the Vancouver Canucks?
The Vancouver Canucks are going through some stuff right now, and the internet has been very vocal about what the answer to those issues should be. With captain and star defenseman Quinn Hughes out, and a supposed feud between top centres JT Miller and Elias Pettersson, what does this team have to do to maintain their current position for playoff qualification? And is it as dire as people think it is in the first place?

    History has proven that make a long playoff run, a team has gotta have a strong core of Cdn players. There are exceptions, but generally speaking, this is true. Cdn players have been hard wired to die for their team. End of story

      10 years ago i would have fully agreed. It was the truth back then. Looking at the game now and the next generation, i think it will be a mixed bag. We just seen perfect example with the Canadian junior team. Teams with solid top six, good leadership/coaching, depth, speed, and a brick wall blue line are what wins cups. Race has very little to do with it and there are more and more skilled players from other countries as the sport itself has grown significantly...also the vibe in canada has changed and not for the better.

    The early 2000s CFL BC Lions did not much like each others a lot of people did not get along, however they still managed to put out some of the best Football the Lions ever have with Wally Buono as coach. Players can hate each other and still play well, I think the media always spins the drama and there rarely ever is.

    Lets goo another NHL video! Definitely agree that the issue with blue line is magnifying the whole "controversy" with Miller and Petey. I think if you go to every NHL team there will be certain players that don't really get along. Would rather we keep both of them and figure it out but if I had to pick one to be traded it would have to be Miller. I think trading away Petey will be such a mistake as time goes on.

    All Black makes half decent sticks - $89 per, $24.99 shipping (to America - don't know about the U.K.) on the first one, $5 on any additional. They have your basic blade patterns, lowest flex on senior sticks is ~ 70.

    You can use heel wedges, after market footbeds, wear thick socks, etc., but you need to be fairly close to start with. A lot of what she's talking about here is fit, not size. Size is just length, just the start of properly fitting skates. The truth is, you need to asses size quickly and return your skates if they don't fit. Loose skates suck, and you'll never be the skater you can be with your feet sliding around.

  • @deltabravo1811

    I'm shoe size 10-1/2 to 11. My Reidell 220s are size 10. Perfect fit. My Bauer Supreme M5s are size 8. After baking them and breaking them in, I can see going to a 7-1/2 for a pro fit, maybe 7 even. Skates that are too big don't work well. If your skates are too big, get smaller skates.

    Yeah, the "size to size and a half down" in the States also only applies to people with "normal" feet. I wear US10.5 (D width) footwear normally. I followed the conventional advice, and suffered nothing but foot pain. Eventually, as a last ditch before quitting the sport, I tried going larger and wider based on a recommendation from a skate pro in New York. My current skates are US11 (EE width). I have been skating pain free for years now. I have a flat, low volume (top to bottom, not side to side) foot. I thought for years that my feet were narrow because the eyelets on my shoes and boots were always so close together. But, it was because by foot was not tall, and the tops were just able to wrap around more. Superfeet insoles (non-carbon) are great, and waxed laces are a MUST! For thicker socks, look at merino wool or synthetic hiking socks (Thorlos for example).

    After the salary cap was introduced,in the NHL you always get a surprise winner for the Stanley cup not the repetitive win from the same teams year after year, like European football. The same team winning is just predictable and boring. There is just no energy and excitement seeing the same two teams dominate a league. I find surprise winners and upsets far more exiting!

  • @stephendacey8761
    @stephendacey8761 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice job, Geo. I think the biggest problem that has hurt the NHL is expansion. There are too many teams in the league. Too many teams in warmer climates like Florida and Tampa Bay. Maybe, just keep Tampa Bay. The Florida Panthers down in Miami only attracts transplants from colder areas who go only to root for the team up north they came from. Fewer teams means the quality of players would be a lot better. And, I think with fewer teams the games would mean more to get into the playoffs. Allowing 16 teams in waters down the season and makes the season less interesting.

    • @austinkowalski5512
      @austinkowalski5512 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s just it true, if you look at the MLS. (major league soccer) you will see that expansion has helped grow the league’s popularity. especially in the south, some of the biggest attendances come out of the southern teams.

    I agree with pretty much all your points. I would also like to add that the NHL seems to assume that hockey culture needs to change in order to appeal to potentially new fans when I think the NHL would naturally appeal to the most fans by just being authentic about what it is: a brutal, fast, highly-skilled sport with a ton of history and rivalries that are ongoing. Trying to mimic the NFL and NBA is a death sentence. Even non-fans will just see that as desperation, and loyal fans will spend less money.
