Yea pal still doing the paint, its just now im out of being on the tools I can get back into the cars, working / running the paint and then trying to do the cars just didn't work. Took someone on in the paint, and now I can concentrate on the cars 👌

One of the biggest issues in our job, is material and running costs and it’s constantly going up and up. People’s budgets for getting work is also disappearing so that’s why I’m just looking at ways to expand and link into bodyshop. Got nothing to loose by trying, that’s the way I’m looking at it. You big / small bodyshop?

@ small 1 man band, yeah you think you’ve money then realise you need filler,primer and clear and that’s the majority of it gone, even thinners to clean the spray gun has jumped from £21 up to £50-60, I’ve been buying damaged and repairing/selling and have done ok but it’s getting the time from public work, it’s got to the point I’m gonna stop the public work and concentrate on my own stuff and sell more

I’ve never thought buying cats was worth it in my opinion, with the amount of labour that you put into them. Marketing did change my business, my income was 4x when I spent a few months learning google ads and Facebook ads, really did change things for me

Sometimes starting off with 1 car with that kind of money is the best, you take more time and become more picky… always go with your gut feeling on a car. Looking forward to watch the journey 👌

No mate, being its council it’s extremely relaxed. Been in my other unit for over a year and never seen them.. never call or visit. As long as you don’t go 3 months behind on rent they leave you be

Thank you, It’s exactly the same plan for me. I rather sell locally, there will always be issues but it’s how you deal with them. Locally can control that a lot more and build that trust up with customers

@BargainBangers i live in northumberland i bought a car from a one man band in wakefield doing the same as you,it was on ebay,i messaged him on a friday night at 6pm,he rang me back i explained i was at work until 1pm on sat & couldnt get down until the following sat to collect,he came back with a price inc del,he was at my door at 2pm on the sat,drove car up so i would know it was ok,his mate collected him in a car to go home,i gave him a great review,he is still trading today 4 years on!,all about the customer service!!
