Agreed. MK8 R is great but it was built for the DSG and not the manual IMHO. Honda manual is top notch.

Because the FL5 is really that good lol I've had a lot of RWD's in the past and to me the best is the Camaro SS 1LE and ZL1 and Chevy is no longer making those so at a reasonable price Type R is the best enthusiast car in my opinion right now.

You're welcome brother and yes the base GTi sound system sounds better than the Golf R system in my opinion, I was wrong about the Type R though because at the time at filming that video I didn't realize I could activate the Bose center speakers and once I did the sound improved big time!

Yup I love the exterior of the Golf R too but yeah man the way the Type R drives is AMAZING!

Dude every test I've seen where people test the manual Golf R they are getting low 6's and high 5's the DSG is the one that gets 4.5 and 3.8 tuned.

I think that you're looking at DSG times cause the best manual gearbox time's I've seen is 5.5 with the manual gearbox and that's with them using Michelin Pilot Sport tires and doing aggressive launches, and that's after doing it over and over and abusing the clutch to get that time, I know I can get a 5.5 as well but don't want to put much abuse on the car as it is my car and not a press car.

@@MMSWon Yeah that's what I've been seeing too, and if you look I launched the Type R even less aggressively than I did the Golf R and still got a better time lol.

@@RaceCarFriends I feel like I came off rude, I wasn’t trying to. But I’m baffled that the manual golf R would be that much slower. And it really shouldn’t be slower than a FWD far from a dig. I guess that goes to show the manual gearbox in the Golf R isn’t great.

@@colejackson3968 It's cool I understand and respect your passion, but yeah the DSG is the best version of the Golf R simply because of how VW designed the manual gearbox in the MK8 Golf R, they made it so that you have to shift into 3rd gear in order to hit 60 MPH and that slows down the 0 to 60 time significantly.
