21-year-old Thai rapper and singer MILLI (born Danupha Kanateerakul) has been blossoming into a global powerhouse, effortlessly commanding stages from New York to Tokyo while challenging stereotypes about her country on the international stage.
SAVOIR-FAIRE! presents “THRILLA IN MILLI-นะ,” an intimately crafted documentary shot in her native Thailand and during her first-ever performance in the Philippines at 88rising's Head in the Clouds festival.
Produced in 2022 when Danupha was a first-year student, this documentary's release in 2024 aligns with a significant milestone in her life: her graduation from university.
Together, we explore MILLI’s growth as a rising artist-from her early days emulating CL’s performances in school contests and auditioning on reality shows, to enrolling in university for her major in jazz piano, and now performing on massive world stages. We delve into MILLI’s inspirations, life lessons, and struggles as she confronts the challenges of self-confidence, international demand, and fame.

In 2022, MILLI was listed on BBC’s “100 Women” alongside some of the world's most influential people, and made history as the first ever Thai solo artist to perform at Coachella.
Apart from her solo work, MILLI has built a stellar list of collaborations with other renowned artists including Jackson Wang, pH-1, BIBI, and Changbin.
MILLI understands that representation and acknowledgment are important, and demonstrates this by using English, Japanese, multiple Thai dialects, and slang to address bullying, politics, beauty standards, consent, imperfection, and confidence. Her debut single, “พักก่อน” (‘Pakkorn’, February 2020), catapulted her to national fame, swiftly followed by her second single “สุดปัง” (‘SUDPANG!’, June 2020). The music videos for both tracks has respectively amassed a whopping 95 million and 47 million views to date.
Taking every opportunity to represent her heritage authentically-from styling Muay Thai shorts for stage outfits, to eating mango sticky rice while performing-MILLI has never failed to captivate audiences with her charming personality and explosive stage presence.
Her rise to stardom includes performances at 88rising’s festivals in New York and China, the F1 Grand Prix in Singapore, and the HipHopPlaya Festival in Seoul. Her energetic performances and charisma have also earned her spots on the Summer Sonic and Rolling Loud lineups, where she was famously invited to join Jay Park and Jessi for a surprise guest appearance after her solo set.

The documentary is simply amazing in so many ways. Firstly, it managed to convey Harry's emotion and achievement so well in finally overcoming all obstacles and embarking on a worldwide tour with his art. Secondly, everything Harry said emphasizes how genuine he is and underscores the importance of never giving up on our dreams and anything that makes our hearts beat faster. So inspiring. Congrats to the entire team that supported this project and to Harry. The editing is on point, the chapter divisions, the soundtrack, and the conclusion, everything is wonderful. I hope we can have a new world tour soon, and that Brazil can be featured in the next documentary 🇧🇷❤
