Is coding knowledge required for salesforce marketing cloud?
Coding knowledge is preferred but it's not required to an expert level. With basic understanding of coding, you can manage to work. SSJS is something that is highly used in SFMC. Also AMPscript which is easy to learn

When u access shared DE from child BU u have to use ent. Prefix with the DE name.

Unfortunately SFMC org is not free . It’s paid .
