I went through OCS on the mid 80's in both 50th and 51st companies. I got hurt, so I had to do it again, from the beginning! We had the branch detail program then, so I started in Armor, then when I promoted to Captain I got what I wanted, MI. Well, MI in an Engineer Battalion and since I had knowledge in tanks, I ran their CEV tank gunnery range! I might add something here, after going through basic training, OCS, Ranger School, my armor basic course, airborne school and SF, take care of yourself because it will come back in later life. Jumping off tanks, parachute landings, just plain over doing thing and pushing too hard. Just be smart. We all think we are indestructible. Work smart.

I still wish a game developer would buy the rights to Joint Ops and recreate it in a modern engine. That game was like heroin.

What were you rated at for disability rating? I have the same exact issues, but with my shins. I was rated at 0% for both.

I find it interesting that the most popular games are remakes or are trying to bleed the original title such as call of duty and battlefield. They're not making good games in my opinion like they used to. They're just trying to sap off the old stuff and modernize it. For me. Personally I don't like it but that's just me

Delta Force 2, Tachyon: The Fringe, and DF: Blackhawk Down were staples in my formative gaming years, along with (in no particular order) Half-Life (and its many mods, particularly Counterstrike, Day of Defeat, Firearms, and TFC), Quake 2, Alien vs Predator, Starsiege, Starsiege: Tribes, Rainbow Six and its sequel, Rogue Spear, Microsoft's Allegiance, Freespace 2, Unreal Tournament, and Jane's F/A-18 Superhornet. Rogue Spear, TFC, Counterstrike, AvP, and Tachyon and DF:BHD were particularly important to me and majorly formative games for me!

Graduated in class 27-69, August 1969. OCS was 26 weeks back then. The exam most feared back then as I rememberwas Tactics, not LANDNAV. Don't recall a history exam back then. Could have been but don't remember it.

I'd say another reason Novalogic failed was the fact that they had the audacity to name one of the penultimate missions in DF3 "Operation Flashpoint". I would personally say, when Operation Flashpoint : Cold War Crisis was released to the public, it pretty much did what Delta Force did, and did it way, way better. Large, open environments. Freedom to tackle the missions the way you want. And add onto that vehicular combat, a pretty good sandbox and one of the best MP experiences of it's time, there was no way they could possibly compete.

I do see points where this game neeeds improvements, but the core of the game is great, I hope they don't mess it up, the game needs some fixes more than a new content ( fix it before you add more content just for the sake of it ) . Finally, I think the community is what makes the game bad, this game is based on communication, and most players here don't respond cuz it's not an obligation to use a mic , I hope that the developpers make it a rule, you have no mic, you don't play, or at least chat.

For BHD I used to set up pcs in my dining room and play local lan games with my kids and friends, and just heard there will be a reboot in 2024. Looking forward to that play through. Hopefully they keep the original music. Would be a nice throwback.

I Did The Impossible. I Got All Survivors To Safehouse & Did The Census Taker & Saint Achievements!! Worst Thing I Have Ever Done In This Game, Oh My God!!

I remember playing MW3's single player maps and being constantly reminded of Delta Force maps from a decade earlier. Without realizing that they copy/pasted their logo, i thought they had copied some of their content or at least the map editors were inspired by Delta Force games. When I had heard that they were suing, I thought aha, I knew it. They should have won that law suit!

Anyone here remember the game Tachyon: The fringe? they made that and it was awesome! It was a Space Combat game, which was out of character for NovaLogic.

I still play nova logic games purchased from GOG. It is fun and in the past when it was released I was blown away by those games. I miss it still that the company suddenly silent since.
