Bringing History Back to Life: Restoring 1910 Antique Doll Shoes
In this video, I take on the delicate and exciting task of restoring a pair of antique doll shoes from the 1910s. These shoes, made from oilcloth, belong to a Horseman doll and are over a century old! It's a journey through history as I bring these tiny treasures back to life.
To restore these vintage beauties, I used boiled linseed oil to soften and preserve the material, oil paint to retouch their worn surfaces, and sturdy cardboard to recreate the bottoms of the shoes. My goal was to honor the history of these precious items while ensuring they look as close to their original state as possible.
If you’re a fan of antique doll restoration, love learning about vintage crafts, or are just curious about how to restore historical items, this video is for you!
