These three events on a 2 hour ride. I reckon the drivers would consider these non events but not from my seat. All look like close passes and are nearly more serious incidents but for an inch or two and half a second. #closepass #cycling

Great
bonjour!Enjoyed- nice sharing-see you later!It's. :))
Thanks for the visit
I think you should be able to change the range. There are other videos on youtube where they get it to goes 5km
Yep you can go way further out. Much beyond a mile you cannot see it which even if you have line of sight could be construed as being outside the flying rules in the UK.
What video editing software did you use for the zoom?
I use VideoProc Vlogger. It's free , a little glitchy but good enough. The more you use it the better it gets,
I think it was the lousy music. Everything works out well when you have a killer soundtrack ;-). I'm actually a little disappointed. I just bought one of these. This was something I was hoping to use it for. It's still a cool little drone, however .. well built, pretty powerful. It's my very first drone beyond the toy category. Even the footage you managed to get is pretty cool. I thought the Atom didn't actually have follow me, though, only active track? Which is kind of the same but they're listed as different features depending on the model, and I guess they work differently. I'm pretty much a noob. Also .. I thought these things were pretty fast (up to 35 mph depending on wind)? I haven't used mine much yet .. but is it possible to have it track you in "sport" mode so it'll keep up? Lastly .. how long did it take you to learn to fly this thing? Thanks
Follow-me is GPS. Atom SE had that but worked crap. This Atom has optical tracking. Works completely different. A good drone should have both imo. In real life on a bike follow-me is much more reliable. If it is programmed correctly. Few are.
keep it up, good speed
I don't chase speed anymore. As much as it can be fun, unfortunately the planet is populated with idiots. I was doing 44mph and some twat in a car decided it would be fun to blast past me really close to scare me? show who's boss? I don't know why. What I do know is that the draft he caused sucked me into the middle of the road and scared the hell out of me. Luckily I stayed upright and no one hit me. You may feel under control but there's an idiot just around the corner just waiting to ruin your day or possibly life. Stay safe :)
Great point and I will say I do check behind before going full gas. Safety first.
yesterday I was riding on the road, not too busy, but there's a guy keep acting like he's gonna hit me and keep honking
@@Connor-ez9nj There's a BBC article about a week ago - a car pulled along side and his passenger shoved a cyclist off his bike doing 25mph. Broke his shoulder. I've bought a helmet cam - I hear drivers behave more reasonably when they see know they're being recorded.
Amazing view 🎉
Well, the manual says that the maximum tracking speed is 8m/s (28.8kmh) and advises to stay below 4m/s (14.4kmh) on average for optimal tracking. I guess it works better at even lower speeds, and lighting conditions, e.g. not moving against the sun, also make a big difference.
Really cool 👍
Just a bit close 😮
thank you Your video helped me a lot.감사합니다
THANKS! I saw the Sun/Shadow video you did before and was hoping you would figure it out, so thanks for sharing again.
Well done video - Thanks! No tips from me, but must say you are e x t r e m e l y patient.
did you share to Potensic Support for the explanation?
This is not follow-me but optical tracking, Follow-me is GPS. And trust me, follow-me works much better. It is more reliable, more predictable, you can go much faster, and the shots are often better. Unfortunately instead of getting the follow-me they had on the SE working properly, Potensic thought it was a good idea to act as if they are DJI and dump follow-me for active-track. But for that to work you need really good cameras, a huge amount of programming, and probably obstacle-avoidance as it flies exactly where all the hazards are. I don't know about you, but I wasn't born with eyes in the back of my head. Watching the phone screen is impossible. But follow-me can work perfectly on the cheapest drone with GPS. it's just a couple lines code in the app. It is safer as you can have it fly in view if you wish. Don't need obstacle avoidance. My eyes and brains are my sensors. If, like I said, they know how it should be programmed. My funny L109 Pro does everything right. Compass type follow-me, I can use the sticks and it immediately follows again, it even auto-updates homepoint. I wish it had a better gimbal and camera. Till now I haven't found any drone that has the follow-me as good. And it's not that I have anything against optical tracking. It can do things follow-me can't. On the Mini 3 Pro and 4 Pro things get very interesting and dynamic. For walking it is almost flawless. Almost, it can still crash. And it will not avoid moving objects! I have seen people miss cars by inches. Others were less lucky. In real life cyclists never use it. People riding around the world all fly their DJI manually. They don't have the time for all the trial and error and ride back again if it loses you. But they do use follow-me if they have Litchi or Maven or Dronelink. So I hate to tell you, but the Atom just isn't a hiker/biker drone. DJI drones aren't either. Maybe you should contact Potensic and ask them to please bring back GPS follow-me, PROGRAMMED CORRECTLY! And also tell them without a homepoint-update option any tracking feature is worthless. You're no longer where it took off. Having to race up a mountain in panic if RTH kicks in is not an option and unsafe. Such a shame. The Atom is a nice drone. It could have been a great hiker/biker drone and a real competitor to DJI. If only they had concentrated on follow-me.
So disappointing. Its claim to fame over DJI Mini 2 is auto tracking. You showed it has severe limitations. Yellow shirt on gray road is poor contrast. Maybe better clothes colors could help.
Check out my successful follow me a few weeks later. I think the high wind, low sun and drone speed settings were the issues at play. Next time worked. see.... th-cam.com/video/pUsXzA_FyrE/w-d-xo.html
For a $300 drone I don't see this as disappointing at all. If you want drones with perfect tracking, up your game and buy the $1500 drone. Don't complain about not getting $1500 features on your $300 drone🙄
So that's not a great distance as 1600m is only a mile and given the max range of 6km which obviously is not achievable in the real world, I'd expect at least 2-3km so 600 is barely a quarter of the expected distance, still good to see you didn't get any signal or video loss on the flight 😊
I think much further would be beyond realistic line of site. As a relative novice it felt plenty and gave a great view of the edge of my local town in a new perspective.
Hi paul Thx for your videos Just wondering if you were riding at a slower speed? What if you speed it up to like...normal riding speed, you think the potenaic can still track? Thx
Not sure, one to test out but honestly I think to track 15-20mph riding I think you ought to have a separate drone pilot.
According to the Manual 28.8kmh or 17.9 mph is the maximum tracking speed, but staying below 14.4kmh or 9mph on average is recommended
Guess it was meant for tracking walking ppl or object at slower pace. Havnt try mine doing this yet but so far from what i saw from other channels, it does its job well for walking. But didnt know it can easily be distracted by the sun
Great video. Will it track in sport mode? Is it possible to attempt to track with the drone a little closer to you when you start?
That's my next test. Sport mode. I started close but you need a min height so it's never super close. For the next time.
