Whales of Teewah Beach June 2024
Episode 169: This episode showcases a few of the pods of Whales that cruised past our campsite in mid june 2024. The Zoom got quite a workout as well as video cropping so sorry if the quality is not as good as it could be.

scary thought lol
awesome drone footage
thanks for watching
I watched due to my recent obsession with the area, that spot at the Buccarumbi Bridge is a favorite. I took the photos for two Overlander articles, my mate Charles Boyle penned the stories, those were the days my friend... when we were young.
glad you enjoyed 😎
Cool ep and great memories
yeh it was an awesome trip, glad you enjoyed.
Im frothing the fact those Patrol's were not old at all and are done up with full 4x4 gear 3" etc and actually being used, very nice.
Big Red was running a 7" lift and 38" Super Swampers. Also had double ARB diff locks and 85% gear reduction. High Mount winch and roll cage. Had 55 litre water tank and hot water heat exchanger for the shower ... was a pretty unique Comp Truck.
@@aussiewalkabout4x4 And what have you got now mate
same model GU Ute but with a 2" lift and a canopy on the back ... you can see it on my other videos. @@LordEthan2
Cool to see the creb back then those were prime days
glad you enjoyed it :)
Hey mate just curious about the first camp spot, can't seem to find it, could you tell me the location please.
Hi, Its at Alice around 25Kms south of Tabulam NSW
@@aussiewalkabout4x4 thanks mate, appreciate it. Looks like a great camping spot.
Awesome video mate, some of those rock formations are simply amazing!! 👍👍🔥 Not sure on a few of those cave paintings though, some of them seem to be doing peace symbols.
yeh they look a bit sus
U done well ...they real nice pics..
Wow, thank you!
thanks for watching
Great vid mate. Thanks for sharing. You had me worried about snakes walking through that grass. Just wondering what the spelling is of the river please.
Dumaresq River [ pronounced - dju merik ] ... yeh the place is ripe with Red Bellied Blacks so its a definite worry.
LOOKING FOR IMAGINARY LINES ,,,,,,,,,,,MMMM,,,,, OK HAVE FUN OLMATE
any excuse for a trip away camping !!
That was good, thank you :)
glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching :)
Hey Legend, Thanks for the long time support. For you viewers and potential customers, here's some info. When I 1st started 3D printing in June 2017 I was using a plastic called PLA. I very quickly discovered this plastic was not up to the task of being inside our cars with the temperatures we see throughout Australia. I moved to ABS in Sep 2017 which I still use today across all of the 3d products we make. The item in the video is now Injection moulded, not because the 3D printing is low quality but I can provide them at a lower price :) I still cannot believe that item lasted this long, and I laughed my ass off when it shattered into a million pieces! Sorry I couldn't have been there to help you clean up the mess mate. Cheers, Kenay.
When it happened i couldn't figure out where the little square bits of plastic came from ... i only contacted Kenay to inform them as i figured it was well out of warranty but he replaced it with no qualms ... You sir are the legend !
Cool ep hope you get her sorted,
did a longer trip this weekend and she went well so far
anytime you try to remove the block drain plug on a Patrol a single hex socket is essential also plastic radiator tanks on a Patrol have a rubber "O" ring that seals the tank against the core
yeh i used a 6 sided socket but it stripped anyway
Easier to crack the water fitting on the turbo to drain it.
i'll give that a crack, thanks.
That's Sad for you. hope you get her sorted, As soon as the wet season is over I'm heading up North for 12 weeks Weipa area Gulf and top of WA kalumburu. tow up my 5m tinny do some fishing.
yeh i'll probably end up going north myself, thanks for watching.
Can you canp at Yates Crossing i have been told you can"t. Thanks.
Seems to be people camped there all the time .

Cool tunnel.. 😎
2.4 Metres high and wide ... the roofrack scraped the whole way through and actually squashed the suspension down at the other end!! lol
glad ur place is ok after that crazy weather. Hope to see you back on the road again soon
yeh might take a while but we will carry on ............
Crikey Sorry to see this happen. Happy belated and hope all gets sorted
thanks and it will take some time but will be sorted
Does that have a To2 or To4?
TD42T
Oh dear sorry to hear. When you re do the head chuck some Arp studs on her. Especially if running more boost and a bigger pump etc. what a shame
yeh thanks, i have a spare motor for it.
@@aussiewalkabout4x4 awesome that’s great. Good luck with it all and getting back on the road. There a good engine when running sweet.
happy birthday to you sir, love from india 👍👍👍
why, thank you good sir!
Lovely Ep but thats a shame about your motor I hope you get her sorted out, oh HB, I feel your pain We own a 1HZ n/a 80 series, I spent 4 years chasing down overheating troubles while towing it was fine not towing but got up to 110 degrees towing with the aircon turned off, I rebuilt the motor with new rings and bearings and a new head and a new water pump new thermostats made no difference, I tried 3 different 3 core cooper brass radiators over the 4 years made no difference. In the end I was going to sell it, A good mate said try a cheap Ebay 3 Core all alloy Radiator so I did was $250 delivered. I put it in our 4wd run 26 degrees cooler not towing and 20 degrees cooler towing with the aircon on, been in 6 years no dramas I tow my 5m tinny up Cape York every year, and went to Nhulunbuy last year, it mite not be your troubles but just keep it in your mind , you may need a 4 core as turboed.
tried a new alloy radiator, radiator cap, thermostat, hoses, viscous hub and still overheats even on cold days at 100kmh on the flat.
Oh man that sucks, hope you get back safe. Belated Birthday tidings and welcome to '24
thanks, lets hope 24 is a better year!
Hey, Happy Birthday. Hope you manage to get it all going again.

Awesome videos. We are currently planning our trip to Cape York for August next year. Our plans pretty much resemble what you have covered in your last few videos. Is there any chance you have gps logs of the tracks you've taken?
@@godzlagtr1241 sorry no GPS but all the tracks are on the Hema Cape York map.
We saw you driving in as we drove out. And we left the wood there.

Lucky there wasn't a pair of crocs resting on the beach below your camp ... or maybe it would have beeen lucky depending on your shoe size.
there was one waiting just in front of my camp when the tide was in
