Sad to see that my favorite state anthem was based off of this song. But that does not mean they need to get rid of it. Go Mississippi is just a silly little song about a silly little state, and even if it uses this tune and similar lyrics to the first verse, the actual song has nothing about supporting segregation or anything like that. Also their anthem has a kazoo solo and that is absolutely hilarious. It made sense to get rid of the confederate-inspired flag, but please don’t get rid of Go Mississippi. You don’t want Mississippi to rank in last place again, do you?

I had the pleasure (and fun) of having dinner with him twice in the 1980's. He was hilarious and a bit racy (off-color) at times, but he was surrounded by a bunch of male college students who agreed with his positions. I remember asking him who "Little Boy Blue" was. (I knew who Big Daddy and Tall Daddy were). Many, if not most, were from the Mississippi Delta, whose schools were absolutely ruined in 1970-1971. The only other Mississippian of such stature that I ever met was John Stennis.

Poor Carroll. Apparently a mediocre man Who had no problem being elected lieutenant governor but who could not make it to the.Governor's mansion. From 1959 to 1971, Mississippi only wanted governors who would deceive them about maintaining segregation and preventing black people from enjoying basic civil rights. Ah, Mississippi!! We preach love for our fellow men but devote ourselves to showing hate.

I wouldn't have that much sympathy for Carroll. He virtually ran on the same exact campaign promises as Barnett. He was definitely the "better" choice, but that's not saying much when you're up against an extremist like Barnett.

J.P. would have been an ideal choice for the state in 1963. Instead, we elected a man who seemed the.most strident segregationist. So LBJ appointed him to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. J.P. told me once he was pretty close to RFK and had JFK lived, he may have been named to the Supreme Court. Highly unlikely, but interesting conversation

George Washington. The first president of the USA and aswell the man who shaped America to be the most influential country. Also stated how terrible political parties were. People did not listen and we have clowns like Biden being popular and strong leaders like Trump being held back by their respective parties. George Wallace was the closest thing to a strong hero, coming from George Wallace not being in any political parties (he was an independent). Much better than Nixon who all he did was bomb Vietnam and still lost, created deficit spending, and spied on the other political parties. George Wallace was the way to go.

Have to say George Wallace had better campaign songs. These were back when election posters and billboards used to be printed "VOTE CONSERVATIVE - VOTE DEMOCRATIC". Even in 1960, way before I could vote, Kennedy - Johnson billboards had this phrase under their names. Since then, over time, the Democrat Party has gotten captured by Communists or Socialists, alphabet weirdos, illegal aliens, anti-Americans, often perverted pressure groups, fanatics for killing foetuses, woke cancel culture censors, criminal advocates, and destroyers of our economy. Now it seems, to barely win elections, the Democrats need triple fishy problems/breakdowns and ballot handlings, illegal voting, and computer pre-programmed vote counting, not to mention fraud friendly NO VOTER I.D..

Democrats and Republicans are getting more confused While Mr. Wallace picks up speed, we're really just amused With George C. Wallace in the lead we have no need for tears Remember who has held the reins through all these troubled years They're really trying everything to slow us down a bit But every untrue word they say, the stronger we shall get A grassroots people's movement, it's surely to succeed And not the other parties united in their greed If you would listen now my friends as they try to change their views They're getting in a huddle to fool their P's and Q's And also more frustrated as they distort the news We have no need for hippies, anarchists and the like We'll restore law and order as sure as night as night Riots and demonstrations have surely gotta stop We'll back our police and firemen, they're the best friends that we've got Now Mr. Wallace has the facts and figures on the line The American people backing him let's get him there on time Property rights are something else they're cramming down our throats These federal bureaucrats must think we're just a bunch of goats Now Mr. Wallace says and I'm sure you will agree These communists have gotta go to keep our country free Let's register them and not our guns, our home we must protect Let's get them on the run and fast, and then real peace we'll get Let's get them on the run and fast, and then real peace we'll get
