Stabilizing zebra wood and walnut for knife handles
มุมมอง 523หลายเดือนก่อน
I set out today to make one handle, turned out to be six. This video I use cactus juice and a vacuum chamber to stabilize some knife handles that will eventually be given a coke bottle shape. #blacksmith #bladesmithing #maker #customknifemaker #knifemaker I’ll have a few of these handles up for sale in my Etsy store, if you’re interested. ravenrebellion.etsy.com
Hand forging a steel guard for a Bowie knife build

Chose to hand hammer the guard this time instead of machine cutting it, and I found my new favorite method for making tang slots. Check out my Etsy page ravenrebellion.etsy.com #blacksmith #bladesmithing #maker #knifemaking #absapprentice
What do I do with some leftover spring steel at the end of a long day?
มุมมอง 188หลายเดือนก่อน
Sunsets and hammer just go together. Forging a basic through-tang hunter to a rough finish from some leftover railroad clip. I’m working on forging closer to final shape. More hammer, less grinder. #blacksmith #bladesmithing #maker #absapprentice

Hi 😅😅❤
Hey
Literally just posted my first blacksmithing vid :) I am also a fan of vevor!
Link me to your video so I can watch it. I searched for you and couldn’t find it.
@@RavenRebellion I see you found it! Cheers a lot mate!
@@CharliesForge Hey nice job on this, mate. Looks like you’re off to a great start! I love that you are bringing us with you :)
bump
I’m a little addicted to their prices. I have been pleasantly surprised at how usable they’re very affordable tools are.
@@RavenRebellion They are like the harbor freight of Australia XD
Cheap and dirty but best value
Nice
Thanks :)
If you anneal the steel after forging, and remove the scale, drilling is much easier and more enjoyable. Nice looking profile on that blade!
Thanks for the compliment :) Good tip 👍
whats that piece you put in the anvil to make the curve?!
Thanks for asking that :) It’s a “bottom fuller” insert for the hardy hole on my anvil. I bought it on Etsy from a local seller. www.etsy.com/listing/1564838328/
Zebra wood would be my choice.
I thought this might be a popular choice. I should have featured the walnut too.
It's fun to watch the process.
Thanks :)
Nice use of that old saw blade!
Thanks 👍
Looks pretty good. The curve is pretty nice on the spine. And those BLD rounding hammers that Brandon makes are great aren’t they
Yes! It’s my favorite hammer by a long shot!
Looks fantastic. Nicely done
Thank you very much!
Good looking cleaver. Nice job dude!
Thanks!
Put some table salt in a tiny pile on it while bringing up to quench heat. The salt will melt at the exact right temperature for quenching the blade.
That’s great! I never heard that before. Thank you!
But how do you interrupt the cellular mitosis?
Very carefully
This man’s going place.😮
Thanks :) I’m pretty sure I’m going to bed. ;)
