One of the themes of my childhood growing up in the 90's and 00's.
RTE being a trail blazers in human right reporting. I believe that now is the right time to shake things up a bit in the news room.Time to give people with certain disabilities a chance to do the same job as a abel body person and sit in front of the camera reading the news. If there's a person in RTE who can do this job, why aren't they being offered this role. It only requires the news reader to sit behind the desk and staying stationery. Maybe I'm assuming a lot but I see no evidence to the contrary of my assuming. I hope I'm wrong and I'm missing something buii as far as I know there are no news reader's in any of the Island countries news room's. If I'm right I want to know why because I pay part their wages. I not about beating the drums but when I see injustice I call it out.✊☘️
Why is he talking in a plastic magic wand?
Bruce does make me laugh. For the very first episode though, they sure set the players up to be losers. Giving away a car would have made a great opening episode.
Just like elton john, his hear grew more as he got older...
Idk why, but this sounds like the background music of a Pretty Cure transformation.
Is that the legendary Turkey Family Fortunes Bob?!
1:10 - Bruce before he bought the awful piece of leftover carpet as his wig
Bruce, who left BBC in 1978 to come to LWT to show people he was more than just a game show host, had his variety entertainment show bomb in the ratings in autumn 1978, and so he was back full circle come 1980 as a game show host.
One word weather with Nelson Mandela
You’ve won 50 quid lol those were the days
I wonder how they shuffled the cards ?
Good game, good game
TV was made for people like Bruce Forsyth, Leslie Crowther, Terry Wogan.
Yes indeed too.
@BruceDanton-xw6eg Les Dawson too!!!
@cheapy2006 yes why not there too he was great like Ken Dodd too.
And Bob Monkhouse.
This was the worst instructions I've ever heard sorry
😂😂
Nice star prize. Better than a holiday
Brucie will his own hair!
By the mid 80s he was wearing the piece of left over carpet from his sitting room as his wig
@@johnking5174 superglued lol
The audience booed the bloke when he opted to freeze. They didn’t do that normally. You can tell it’s a debut episode
The titles just had to be designed by the late, great Martin Lambie-Nairn RIP 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It’s sound like stv
Bob was a bus driver? Sensible lad! And Carol was a Nurse from Manchester. Sensible lady!
Holland, final answer
I understand now that it's just One vs One of Contestants for a Start.
Bruce's very first ever Play Your Cards Right Show on LWT 1980. Pity he hurt his wrist.
Love the first mix of the theme with the ambient synth psychedelic sustained chords at 00:42. It was proper 1980.
Classic weekend TV.
Our dolly dealers. Good times. 😂
RTE Six One News Opening 2019
Bring back Brucie we are sick of Alison Hammond
You prune,Bruce is no longer alive
@@stephensnell5707 he is alive in the hearts of everyone who loves light entertainment
Bring him back from the dead you mean? 🙄
@@--Fish yes if necessary we can't take anymore Ant and Dec
At 10:50 does Bruce say "effing hell"?
I must say that Cilla looks very different and I wasnt aware of playing cards used on Blind Date.
pre wig 1980
this is great telly
the great man,loved bruce,lovely tv memories.👍👍😃😃❤❤
I was in the gallery for this on a trainee vision mixer course. The atmosphere was electric and Bruce wanted to know every single possibility of what could go wrong with the game. The guy who created the show in the USA was on hand all the time.
I take it they didn't do any re-takes considering Bruce's mistakes! Was it just too expensive or recorded as live?
@@TheMarkos1982 It seems to me the fluffs were part of the charm, added to the atmosphere and sparkle in the interaction with the audience and contestants, so they left them in. Overzealous editing is what often spoils modern gameshows.
Wow, I was 2 years old at the time of release and it must have been a real buzz being around such people. Hope your well my friend 😊
Sorry I meant impression
I could have done my important of him today at my drama club, last week I ordered a sausage Sandwich for lunch last week, and I got Sausage and Chips, this week I ordered the sandwich and I got it
Don't get anything for a pair ..not in this game. Here they are they're so appealing ok dolly's do your dealing . Those were the days .Best telly then .
This is a real vision of hell: banal, sexist, low rent. Unfortunately we still have its successors on Saturday evenings.
Didn't they fill in time if they were running under with a question between 2 members of the audience for a tenner?
That rings a bell yes
Brucie was a master of this, so good with contestants and completely natural and comfortable in front of the audience
Bruce was all over the gaff here - wrong scores - went to BOB twice in a row but made it his own as usual. That mic want even real
7:33 What a noise!
Wow, what a microphone.
Even in 1980 he did the nice to see you nice bit
He started that on The Gen Game in the 70s
The very first PYCR. This became one of THE GREAT English game shows. With the King at the helm, it got slick, exciting, compulsive, catch-phrase heavy, suspensful and funny. Brucie's best work, in my view was on Bruce's Price Is Right - until David Liddiment's arrival, the bastard. God bless ya' Brucie. You were a bonus
This is so great, thanks so very much for uploading.
Has anyone pointed out the Bruce is wearing a brace on his right wrist?
Given that he spent a minute or so talking about it I think it's a safe bet.
As an American, I didnt become aware of Brucie until I saw the 2nd episode of HIGNFY he did. Knowing me and game shows as a kid, had I grown up in the UK, he would have become my spirit animal.
Bruce Forsyth did try to crack the American market as a game show host and even appeared in an episode of Magnum PI playing himself as the game show host where Rick was one of the contestants.
bob looks like a banker.
