On your next upgrade check the impedance of the factory speaker if you plan to use the factory head unit. Many of them are 2 ohms. The JBL GX line is 2.2ohms. I prefer the GTO's but they dont come in 2 ohms. Not many 2 ohm choices for door speakers, or what I call Highs. If you are using an aftermarket head unit or an amp this wont matter. I only make this consideration if I am keeping the car mostly factory. If you put a 4 ohm speaker on a 2 ohm head unit it wont be as loud. 6.5 are the most common speaker size next to 6x9 and both have the most market option available. The 4x6 is very specific and you wont has as many options on the market.

if you want to do a ground up built your better off just buying a shell, that way you can spot rust and damage easier, and most car shells are usually cheaper, keep you head up, i have 2 projects and i have touch them at all in over a year.
