I'm a long time Mustang enthusiast. Come along for a ride with me as I build up my 2019 Mustang GT. I'll be making how to videos, drag strip and hopefully some autocross videos.
Taillight Tint Install | 2019 Mustang GT
In this video I install the Anchor Room taillight tint on my 2019 Mustang GT. This job is a little tricky on the 2018+ Mustangs with the C shaped taillights. The upper bevel is pretty challenging to get right.

Is it ok to completely tighten up and torque one side at a time? Or do you have to loosen both sides at the same time? :/ Thanks
Helpful bolt placement. Installing it tomorrow a.m. on my S550
Thanks! Good luck! It should go pretty easy.
Is this gloss black or matte black?
Tough to say, looks more matte than gloss to me but it does have some reflectiveness to it that a gloss would produce but it's kinda dull... So probably a bit in between.
@VogelStang OK I was curious which to go with
Did you have trouble closing the hood after?
No problems closing but it definitely is a snug fit, gotta make sure it's seated just right
Rip the sound tube off the firewall. The plastic is thin and tares easy. The nut stays in place.
Yea it crossed my mind to try that but with my luck something would go wrong like slicing my hand open on something 🤣
@@VogelStang Yeah that's not a natural way of working on cars and I can understand the hesitation.
Once i saw you foot brake that last run i knew you had it in the bag, i do the burnout the old fashioned way since my line lock requires a shitload of pedal pressure to engage, ever since Atco closed down island is usually pretty busy, anyways good to see a local guy on here letting it rip, waiting for tires myself on my 21 GT so i can head there this spring.
Thanks!! I've switched over to a manual pp1 mustang since this video. Going to try out some local tracks like NJMP and see how that goes. Good luck at Island!!
@@VogelStang cool make a vid on it, always wanted to run at njmp myself.
I cannot wait to add mine to my Mustang, your video was incredible. Thanks!
👍 awesome! It looks so cool and has a great feel. It's one of my favorite mods I did.
When you change your oil does the bar interfere with oil stream coming out??? If so what did you come up with for an answer for not making a mess everywhere on driveway? Asking cause I’m thinking of purchasing it. Thank you John
From what I remember (cause I don't have this particular mustang anymore), when you pull the plug the heavy stream misses the bar but it will hit it when the stream slows down. I used a larger style oil catch and never had a problem with oil splashing everywhere. I do my oil changes in my driveway so it's important to me to not have any spillage at all. On a side note, one thing I found out is that if you have or plan on getting long tube headers, there may be a clearance issue. I have Texas speed long tubes on the mustang I have now and they are about 1/4" to 1/2" inch in the way. Steeda told me to use washers as spacers but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
@@VogelStang no I’m not getting headers
Hey I have a question. Since this guy install the subframe kit and I noticed that he didn't install the subframe braket that should be put it back on the front one. And I ask him that why didn't u install it and he told me it doesn't need it cuz alignment kit went in and tight up with bolts. Is that true what he said or wrong I'm just askin cuz he kept on telling me it doesn't need it.
Yea I would question that as well. I don't know the answer for sure but my opinion is that, even if the brackets are for alignment, it definitely won't hurt to have them still on there. If it was my car, I would want them on there. In reviewing other videos, like CJ Pony Parts installation of the alignment kit, they also reinstalled the brackets afterward. So, I can't say who is right and who is wrong but it literally would have took 60 seconds to put them back on after they did the install, why not just do it?
@@VogelStangthanks man
I watched your video before and wish I watched this again before trying to install my steeda springs. I tried pulling the rear spring from the top. I would get close but not close enough. I ended up giving up and took it to the shop where I got hosed for the install. I was desperate and late for work as this extended to next day so I went to the closest place I knew. Wish I tried looking at your video and giving it another go. Live and learn.
Sorry to hear that! ☹️ Yup, we are all always learning. I actually just recently had a similar situation just doing a brake and rotor job on an equinox. I was able to finish the job but it took me way longer than it should have. If I had just watched a YT video beforehand it would have taken me half the time and would have saved me a bunch of frustration.
Excellent video, thanks for posting.
Thank you! 😁🤘
I know this is from a while ago but what did you do to cover the holes in the trunk? I really want to install this wing on my gt but I am worried about leaving open holes
The center holes I filled with bondo then covered it with the stripes. Then the single hole remaining on each end of the trunk I popped in a plastic plug that steeda provided. Not the best option for sure but I was fine with it. It's really too bad cause I love this wing and no one really has it. I would have got it for my new mustang but i didn't want to deal with the hole hassle. Swapping trunks with someone that has a spoiler delete and wants to have a wing would be the best option but probably hard to find. Another option is to check for totalled mustang that someone is parting out, also hard to find.. obviously would need to no have rear damage, spoiler delete and same paint color. Other than that, body shop route to fill the holes and paint the trunk which might not be too horrible because you will need to have the wing painted anyway. Final options, if you plan on wrapping your car that then just fill the holes and do the wrap and lastly...buy a new trunk lol. All the options are not great but not much else you can do. You could also contact steeda and ask if they have heard of any genius ways to cover the holes besides the plastic pins.
Dude looks like he could be Mark Wahlberg’s brother 😂.
🤣🤣🤣 have heard this quite a few times
I know ford loves to use TTY (torque to yield) bolts. those 4 large bolts on the subframe look like them. are they supposed to be single use? but at only 129ft lbs it shouldn't be a problem.
I think you're right. Good to know! Apparently the gray colored bolts are TTY. Every resource I used for doing anything that required dropping the subframe did not mention replacing the bolts with new. That included steeda and cjponyparts so I'm sure it's fine as long as the bolt is in good condition. But I'm curious about what the specific reason is that makes these bolts one time use.
@@VogelStang so i learned about them from my ford dealer when i was buying parts to swap the power steering rack in my F150. those bolts are torqued to 300ft lbs so i changed them, but it has something to do with stress on the threads at full yield. He did tell me anything less than 150 is going to be fine, or else you'd need to replace lug nuts everytime the wheels came off.
@@VogelStang so on another note, how do you like this kit? did it help? i know on the track i can feel the slop in the subframe coming out of corners at full throttle. I'm thinking of doing this, the adjustable diff bushings and vertical links. I'll probably do a coil over kit while it basically all apart.
@@motox947 got it, makes sense for something torqued to 300ft lbs. That's a ton of stress on a bolt. Also, glad to be reassured what I did is fine. Thanks for sharing that info!
@@motox947 I can't say for sure if this kit alone does anything major. But I did this kit, vertical links, and the subframe braces pretty much all together and it definitely made a difference. I had some tire chatter at the track in first and second, after installing those parts it was gone. Smooth continuous tire contact with the track.
I just found you on TH-cam. Pretty good videos. What are the plans for the new car? You haven’t made any videos for awhile.
Thanks! Yea, winter time here in the northeast so I don't really record much. I'll be back soon once it gets warm. I will do a video on some headers I got installed + I have an mgw short throw to get installed. Still need to finish getting 93 and e85 tunes buttoned up. Then I'll hit the track and see how much slower the manual is than the 10r80 😆 but I'll have more fun
That’s cool. I’m in Ohio. I have a 20 GT pp1 manual in Magnetic. I found you because I’m getting ready to do the Steeda IRS bushing supports and alignment bushings. I’m gonna lower it too.
I know this is an older post but I just watched it for the first time. I have a 2021 GT A10 mostly full bolt on. Did you ever determine or fix what was causing the short-shifting? I have the same problem with mine and it's annoying as hell. Happens far too often and has ruined many passes. My tuner said the tires are slipping and cause the trans to think it is time to shift. IDK but I am trying a different wheel/tire combo this season.
No I never got it figured out. I found it all to be a bit quirky. That short shifting was frustrating. I highly doubt it's tire slippage. The rpms would have to jump up if that happened. I also tried using the paddle shifters to manually shift but that wasn't great either cause sometimes I would click the paddle and it wouldn't shift or would be severely delayed. In the end I got bored of the auto and moved on to manual that I look forward to tracking when the warmer weather comes. It'll be slower but I'm having more fun. Now I can only blame myself if the shifting sucks 😆 Good luck to ya, hope you get it figured out!
It sounds great . Do you still have it
Thanks! Yup, I actually took the exhaust off the mustang in this video and put it on my new mustang. Another 2019 but went with a PP1 with a manual trans. Also got headers with high flow cats, might be a bit too loud and raspy now with the headers.
Oh nice I have a 2016 gt manual . I'd think I've seen your first mustang. Are you a local on the Sullivan county ?
Also where did you get your new install done
@@joedoe3121 cat back exhaust installs are pretty simple as long as you have the right tools so I do that myself in my driveway. The header install I was not going to attempt alone in a driveway, so I took it to Rob's Performance in Belleville NJ. Great guy, great job!
Oh ok .yeah headers are hard to install if not with a lift .I might have taken mine's to mustang magic in long island, I'm having trouble passing inspection

Love the vid & the car man! Quick question just got a 2021 eco would these springs look good on the eco?
Thanks!! 🙏 I've seen many eco's lowered...I think they good. I think along with lowering, a nice set of wheels and tires are needed as well so they compliment each other. If you have wheels and tires that are tucked way in, then you lower it, it won't look good (imo).
One of my sockets fell into the truck holes🥲
Noooooo!!! 😭 Try to get a decently strong magent to work it out if it's still in there.
Hope you don’t hear it rattling.
Are u still running the r.s I got 275 60 15 ss on a 91 ls s10 they do ok on the street I think I'm gonna go with the r.s next I know thier alittle better on the street andni know they work at the track what your best et now this video is a year old
The R's worked pretty well for me and I still have them. I traded in the mustang in this video for another one. Basically wanted to get back into a manual trans. So at the end of this past season I was building up the new car and plan on taking it to the track in the spring.
@@VogelStang ok so the r.s did good for you that's good to hear and I'm gonna check out more of your videos goos.stuff man
Thanks man! If you're gonna run the R's on the street, definitely stay away from any rain...they have almost no tread at all.
How’d you end up centering the exhaust tips on the rear bumper?
Maybe they look better in the video than they are. I'm still not happy with where they sit but I think they are positioned better on this mustang than my previous one. Just luck I think. I actually had headers recently installed and the mechanic is super picky about the tip placement, he tried and couldn't get them to be perfect either.
Looks pretty intense. Thanks for the video though! I was curious
yup, sure np thanks for the comment 👍
If mosquitoes are bad on you. Place a fan on you because mosquitoes can't fly good in a good steady breeze plus it keeps you cool...
Awesome tip! I will definitely try that the next time those little vampires come at me for a snack! 👍
did you need an alignment at all after this? im pretty skeptical of the irs staying in one place with the way ford designed it.
I didn't get an alignment after this install. From what I had heard, if your alignment is off, you would have problems installing these. If you're skeptical, get the alignment done for peace of mind 👍
Those weather conditions are crazy good. Probably knocked off 3-4 tenths.
Yea, it was a perfect day for racing! 👍
I can’t wait to get this exhaust so my neighbors can enjoy my cold starts at 6am😊. And even better it’s on the cheap
😆 you're going to be everyone's favorite neighbor.
I think the street series with the H pipe or x pipe sounds great! Especially if you ever go with long tubes you’ll be glad you did.
Definitely, street series does have a good sound to it. We'll be introducing some headers (with high flow cats) soon so it'll be interesting to see how loud it will be with race version of mbrp 😬
@@VogelStang can’t wait to hear it! Love the car and thanks for the response 🙌🏽
Thanks! Headers getting installed 10/20 at a mustang shop. No driveway install video for this one 🤣 I have my limits 😁

Congrats that blue is one of my favorites 😍 and really looks good with black wheels & accents!
Thanks! Yes! My favorite as well! I'm pretty stoked that I found this one and it all worked out. Yea, I love the black accents, I think I'm going to do a black vinyl wrap on the roof myself... let's see how miserably I fail at wrapping 🤣
#SAVETHEMANUAL Great choice, beautiful color. I know what you mean about rolling gears. I have an old 2001 Z06 as a fun car, you can't beat the fun of a manual.
Thanks! I'm still getting used to having a bright colored car but I do love it! Every time I get in and push in that clutch, I get that "oh how i have missed you" feeling LOL. Yes! I remember seeing your awesome Z06 in one of your videos, spectacular car! The z06's back then were manual only right?
Nice! Cleaning the stock paddles with some isopropyl alcohol before putting the orange ones on would help keep them stuck.
Thanks Kevin! Great tip! I usually do that but was a little bit lazy this time 😂
Recommend for daily car?
If you like loud exhaust and don't live in a neighborhood where it might be a problem then absolutely! I put 40,000 miles on my mustang in 3 years so I pretty much daily drive it and I love this exhaust. It can be tough in drive thru's, I usually have to turn the car off to order food. I tried a few times with it running and they couldn't hear me 🤣. You can also keep it on the quiet side if you go real light on the gas pedal. It really comes down to personal taste, your routine and environment. Like if you have to start it up at 6am every morning to go to work and you live somewhere around a lot of close neighbors then it might not be a good idea.
Thanks for your video again! Your tip of using a channel lock was a game changer. However, I was not able to insert the alignment insert on the front. I had too much rust it seems and I could not hammer it in. Best of luck with your Stang.
Thanks! Glad to hear it was helpful! Too bad you couldn't get it in there 😕 I remember it being a pretty tight fit so it makes sense you would have trouble with rust. I wonder if it would be possible to get a cylindrical sander like a dremel to clean it up. I have no idea if that's possible or even a good idea or not but just trying to think of options.
After a year how are you liking them ?
Still love the stance. If I were to get another Mustang would I buy these again? Probably not, but only because I would want something a bit more agressive for handling. I didn't really feel much of a difference. If I just wanted the looks, then sure these were perfect and no regrets.
Pull the plug on the driver side of the engine right next to the CAI it takes off all traction control it won’t short shift you just lower ur rear tire pressure to 15-18 do a burnout and ur ready to go
Thanks! I didn't know that and will give it a shot! Thanks for the tip and sorry for the late reply 🤘

if u were really tryn 2 be quiet u would have been using headphones
Where did you get the awning the car is in? I dig it! 🤘🏻
Sorry for the late reply.... I got it from Harbor Freight for around $200. I'm super happy with it....It's gone through 3 northeastern winters now, I didn't expect it to last this long. A few warnings if you get one... 1) make sure it's very securely tethered to the ground, 2) never leave it open during windy weather, 3) if you're in a place where it snows, you need to always knock the snow off the top of it before it accumulates too much.
Here a link to it: www.harborfreight.com/10-ft-x-17-ft-portable-garage-62860.html
The dreaded Island Dragway cone, I've never run into this anywhere but there. It's a great way to ruin your times. I've had nothing but poor experiences at that track. Numidia (my favorite), Esta, Beaver Springs all are much better in my opinion. Island does have a lot of nice cars in a variety of styles but once you go anywhere else you'll only hit Island as a last resort.
Thanks for commenting! I was hoping for some feedback from someone local on that cone! That definitely held me back from getting a better time on street tires. Unfortunately all those great tracks you mention are like at least a 3 hour trip for me. If I were to go to one of them I think I would have to make a weekend out of it. Thanks for the recommendations!
I feel like the 18+ is louder than the 15-17 that I got. H pipe race version that is
Could be due to the engine differences between gen2 and gen3. Gen3 intake and exhaust valves are a bit larger. Not sure if that's the reason or not though, just guessing 🤷♂️
I have a 19 gt pp1 with the 10r80 and have the mbrp race series exhaust and will soon be getting the 93 octane tune with pbd how was your times at the track did you have a good tire
After these changes I actually got slower times because I couldn't hook. I was running 305s MT street comps on 20s. I eventually got MT ET Street R's on 17s and went to e85 and ran a 11.5 with a mild 2k launch. I have videos uploaded after this one with my progression if you wanna check them out.
your wheel and tire setup looks killer, could you tell me what rims, tires, and sizes you are running?
Thanks man!! Sure, I've got MMD 551C wheels from American Muscle 20x10 (R) & 20x8.5 (F) Mickey Thompson Street Comp tires 305/35-20 (R) & 255/35-20 (F) and I run wheel spacers on the front...I believe they are 15mm. No spacers on the rear. The wheels are decent but not great quality, the fronts have developed some cracks in the finish.
I love the sound and I love how much you enjoy your Mustang with that exhaust. I am going to buy it for my 2021GT. I watch your video a lot of times. Great video😘
Thanks! It's been over 2 years now since I've had this exhaust and still love it! Thanks for the comment!
I want to know if after two years the exhaust's material is still in good conditions. No issues or anything .
@@ileanamorales39im last time I was under the car it all looked fine and I've had no issues.
