My English translation:
O anaconda, you have planted a forest. You have hunted and you revealed the knowledge of the forest. You saw that large rivers were tearing apart two children. All that remains is a tooth in the mud.
While having a nightmare, the parents ask you, "Do your large rivers hear? What has done this? Do we believe that the large rivers allow us to cross the bridge?"
The large rivers say to the parents, "Branches have torn apart the dear children. They were able to escape."
A wish fisherman descended. He says this: "Everyone learns about the blame of the future. I hope that honor will be done to lessen the pain. I will return in order to prevent children from being torn apart. Tomorrow, everyone will know a new future. Now, I kill the dazzling, sad future. Though I have come to warn you, but because you are not blind, I listen to you."
Thus I am saying to you: Y'all diggers, pick up! Make a burial using forest dirt!

Half of this video was "I simplified the translation algorithm"
Is there any chance you'd be interested in providing English glosses of the syllables in the Guangyun Dong? I've poked at the git a little bit, but was stymied by my lack of fluency in middle chinese. Alternately, if one wished to say "[that is] very good", as a full statement, how would that translate?
天狼星語就有這種感覺。 寫起來像中文,但是講起來像希臘語。 上古漢語也許講的就是天狼星語。
Also, Kat, congratulations for being part of Big Lang!
Thanks!
You're welcome! And of course your pc is in dutch... @@KatMistberg Also congrats on being a judge for the ccc3! There are going to be a lot of surprises!
Since now you have speeded up the language base matrix construction python code by 120000 times, can you translate the ENTIRE Bee Movie script? And then maybe send me a link with the translation? Like with the Chinese Characters, Dutch orthography and IPA?@@KatMistberg
GOPTJAAM IN THE RELAY???????????? YES!
The only two I’ve watched so far are: this one and Biblaridion’s one, and I must say: it’s WILD how far off the translation is now.
Yo conlangs AND maths, that's like my two areas of study mashed together But it's beyond cursed
stumbled into this video and idk what the heck just happened
합참어
Good luck Schwar
I did NOT expect to get a linear algebra lesson in the conlang relay 🤣🤣 What an absolute genius you have to be to come up with this
Your English translation last a full half way though the text before it becomes incomprehensible. Progress! Also, this is a great demonstration of the power of code optimization! With the uncertainty of human language homophones/synonyms stripped away, Goptjaam 2.0 is really a computer language now!
i love goptjaam
If I were next in the relay I’d be phoning a friend! Goodness.
it sounds taiwanese lol also it feels it's like hakka aswell
It is Taiwanese Hokkien!
This is my first time hearing about Goptjaam, and I'm already traumatised. Love this work, but I feel terrible for the person after you.
There's also the showcase for this conlang
That poor soul,, do they know in advance they're going after goptjaam?? Did they volunteer??
How does this video have more maths than linguistics? Truly cursed
I was going to complain that back substitution instead of Gaussian elimination would only be quadratic, then I got to the Toeplitz matrices part. Work on this language continues to be a inspiration.
Glad you liked it! Your comment led me to think about how to use back substitution to invert a triangular matrix. I can see that back substitution is quadratic if you are solving Ux = y for x, where U is upper triangular, but I don't see how you can find U^{-1} in quadratic time (though I can see how to do it in cubic time, which is by solving Ux = y_i for x, where y_i is the ith column of the identity matrix of size n, and do it for i = 1 to n). Can you explain what you mean?
Why did you curse me so 💔
I'm not even done with the video and I already feel very sorry for what you have been put through.
When he turned the whole text into a single sentence I knew you were cooked
@@pablozaid6078 That's just what Goptjaam is
That the text survived so well through this is a genuine miracle
10:39
😂😭
It's certainly surreal to be able to watch you break down the text. You pronounce it very well.
They did it. They really did. They used goptjaam in the relay. Dear god
incredible as always!!
this is so beautifully cursed
Russian
this made me giggle at just the first seconds of the vid hahhahahhaha
A drunk guy with mouthful of potatoes
i may be in the minority here but I think this is blursed not cursed..... it's beautiful 😭
I've seen like 20 of these submissions at this point... I can confident say this is the most cursed, even more so than the biblical angel language.
I never thought I'd need my "mathematics for engineering science" course to understand a conlang video lol
可以用臺語的嗎???
這個系列的目的是要展示古時候漢語的發音(擬音),所以沒有打算做台語的版本
Happy to see this series continue! It's starting to actually sound Chinese now.
好像廣東話
明年會是甚麼時期的?
應該會是晚期中古漢語!
I think this version is more similar to the Sino-Vietnamese pronunciation than Mandarin Chinese 😂
this is how chinese used to look. Those extra consonants got replaced with tones
German + Cantonese
不错 能出个国旗歌不 国旗歌好听点
幽默老蓝,敢能跟我绿营碰一碰吗😂,废物
I saw this video a year ago so i took a course in linear algebra and came back 👽
这个视频很好。谢谢UP

this is so awesome sauce
Me, who barely even knows basic maths: 🤔
21:22 A = D + D * B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ = D * (I + B * (I - ½B)⁻¹) Let B = 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 ½B = 0 ½ 0 0 0 ½ 0 0 0 I - ½B = 1 -½ 0 0 1 -½ 0 0 1 (I - ½B)⁻¹ = 1 ½ ¼ 0 1 ½ 0 0 1 B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ = 0 ½ ¼ 0 0 ½ 0 0 0 I + B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ = 1 ½ ¼ 0 1 ½ 0 0 1 So I + B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ = (I - ½B)⁻¹
B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ in your example should be 0 1 ½ 0 0 1 0 0 0 (I think you multiplied by ½ B on accident) so the simplification doesn't work, unfortunately :(
@@KatMistberg Oh, oops. Yep, I conflated B with ½B. So: I + ½B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ = (I - ½B)⁻¹ I + ½B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ + ½B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ = (I - ½B)⁻¹ + ½B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ I + B * (I - ½B)⁻¹ = (I + ½B) * (I - ½B)⁻¹ Not much of a simplification, but at least there are no nested parentheses. How come there are no fractions in your A? I understand why there are no negative numbers because -n ≡ p-n (mod p) for n ≤ p.
@@adiaphoros6842 There isn't really such a thing like one half in integers mod p. The closest concept would be the multiplicative inverse of 2 - so a number which when multiplied by 2 gives you 1. If we call it ½, we can write ½*2 = 1 (mod p). But the notation (2^-1)*2 = 1 (mod p) is more common I believe. Let's say we're working with p=7. The possible numbers are 0,1…6. The inverse of 2 is 4, because 4*2 = 1 (mod 7). Then 2^-5 = 2^-1 * … * 2^-1 = 4*4*4*4*4 = 2 (mod 7).
@@mskiptr No, I was just asking what were that values he used for the B matrix. He did say, but I misunderstood.
@@adiaphoros6842 Now I am confused a bit… You asked about fractions in A. There are no fractions because we don't really have division here (or if we have, it always gives you integer results). Well… if it's all clear to you now, then I guess I'm happy I wasn't needed : D
Is this taiwanese hokkien?
@@StockyScoresRaoraPantheraFC Yep!
Also the character looks like an amongus doing the thinking emoji 🤔
I really feel like one of the biggest modern day linguistic limitations for Asian Sinosphere languages developing is the lack of a way to easily create new kanji. As in, historically one of the biggest strength of those languages is you can just draw whatever the fuck you want when you need something to represent a new idea. I wonder if there is a way to design a new standard for this. Like a way to make it easier for “plain text” to include new kanji characters. It definitely needs to be compatible and can be incorporated into a future version of UTF8. But how… I imagine it would be like some meta data placed on the head of a document, recording what custom kanjis are used in this file. Then each time you use the kanji in the text, you just refer to the character. In Japanese, it’s also easy to support fonts or systems not wanting new characters by replacing it with katakana or hiragana.
While less versatile, I think a system that allows you to combine arbitrary radicals would probably be the best. Unicode already supports “combining diacritics” and similar “modifier characters”, so a “combining radicals” block could quite easily allow users to define new combinations for new concepts. Actual custom characters would probably never be added to Unicode, because their whole goal is that _any text can be opened on any computer_ (provided an appropriate font is loaded to render the characters). Custom character data that is defined per-device goes against this and would have to exist outside of the Unicode standard.
1/10 literally a relex of middle chinese, however the numbers are in Z/3Z.
(for people not knowing what z/3z is it means every third number is zero and somehow that still complies with the axioms.10 is 9+1 and 9 is 0 so 10 is 1 and im saying 1/1 or 10/10 or something like that.also you cant do division unless the divisor is 1 or not a factor of 3,which it happens to not be(definitely unrelated to that 3 is prime ;P))
/ means to remove and 3z is every natural number but multiplied by 3,so it means literally to remove every third number from natural numbers,or in this case of ring theory it means to make them equivalent to 0
You just proofed if Zp is a fiel p is a prime number, you missed the visceversa, if p is a prime number Zp is a field
