Australian actor, "John" from The Chosen
Act Up! feat. Jonathan Roumie: "We Do Voices"
Yes indeed, Jonathan and I "do voices". A first ever for the Act Up Podcast, we have VIDEO! I interview my good mate Jonathan Roumie who stars as Jesus in the television series The Chosen. We chat about how Jonathan prepared for the role, standing in for Russell Brand on "Ballers" and how voicing claymation celebrities got him his start in the industry. Hope you enjoy!

Just found out you had a TH-cam channel. Surprised more people don't know about it. I am shocked you only have 2k subscribers (just subbed). Next time you are on a "The Chosen" livestream you should "shameless plug" lol
I love George’s British accent ❤!
Where are the single men that talk about that level of devotion to God? Besides famous actors, of course.
This is one of the best interviews that I have loved all th way through good job George and Jonathan
Stay out of the political stuff. You'll lose a lot of respect from people if you do.
You know!
Hello Jonathan Roumie and George. ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Della Warren here
Johnathan, in this interview you mentioned you had some bullying in younger years. All I could do is smile and think of the country singer Toby Keith's song "How Do Like Me Now"! Sorry, but I can no longer stand it when I hear anything about bullying! A year or so ago Toby Keith passed away after his struggle with cancer. RIP Toby. ❤❤ Johnathan, I so admire and respect you! Love you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Johnathan and George, I came across this again. So now filmed season 5 and look how far you have come! I honestly don't know what I'm going to do when season 7 comes to an end. Looking forward to see what you guys do next. ❤❤❤❤
This is fascinating to me. I had little idea of what training went into acting. I'm so glad I stumbled across this podcast and can hardly wait to listen/view more of them. Thank you George and Jonathan.
Thank you Jonathan for all you do. Jesus has made you very talented. ty
You two are really interesting guys, I mean beyond your work in The Chosen. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences. Godspeed to you both❣️P.S. I love the real Jesus and John -- and I know you're not them. Not to worry. 🫶🏽🫶🏽

I see a young Pacino in Jonathan's face. Pacino did some amazing films! I really liked Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico, And Justice For All.
This interview was 2 years ago just now seeing it. Because I only started watching The Chosen couple weeks ago
Love this interview George, what is your role in The Chosen. Apostle who??????
OMGoodness Are you Australian??
Such an interesting interview, thank you so much, thoroughly enjoyed listening and learning, Jesus is always teaching me, 😊 lol.. 🥰🙏🏻
Roomier is so damn arrogant as to lend himself to being repulsive
Love this man!
The lunchbox voice sounds a bit like Stallon. Lol
I agree with George. ❤
I remember Celebrity Death Match. Who knew
Second time watching this Act up interview it was still interesting and funny . I remember this video . The stages of Jonathan Roomie progress he mentioned his learning and acting classes continuous education in his techniques and method's has be an asset to his career . And The success on The Chosen tv series and movies as well . Thank you to sharing this today with me it made me smile and enjoy my coffee . And remember that scene with Russell Brand . With his British accent . And sense of humor . It was a funny scene. I couldn't believe how similar Jonathan and Russell looked alike . A great interview George. Have a blessed day.
Jesus has a process. Who knew? Just kidding. Great insights from two great talents! Thank you!
This was so interesting. Thank you both for sharing your experiences.
I used to do podcasts. I prefer voiceovers. I miss my work in P.R. that's where I truly learned Spanish. Almost forgot English. I miss P.R. things got complicated and hateful in USA. - Shoshana Shasta Kennedy aka Claribel Ramirez DeArellano. Love your work.
George, I have no idea how I missed seeing this podcast when it first came out, but wow, this was such a fantastic interview! Dude you have some serious interview skills! I learned so much about what goes through your brains as you prep to play a character, etc. It was really really interesting. You guys are awesome, and you are both doing amazing jobs on The Chosen. Keep up the fantastic work! Aaaand I just realized this is the only one you’ve done! When are you going to do more?!
One of the best interviews I watched with Jonathan. Well done George the questions were interesting. Interesting for people who never acted or attended filming a movie. I loved it! God bless!🌹
Love him as Jesus . ❤
the first man o love
Jonathan like look different perfect love you Jonathan
❤
Does Jonathan sing? (yes, I know--drums...but does he also sing?) dts/usa
Pacino: one of his most nuanced roles was in Scent of a Woman...he was incredible at showing a man who was something amazing and through disability goes all the way to attempted suicide...that is a range in one movie that most actors don't achieve in a lifetime of work...not to recognize the ability that it takes to hit that vast range in an hour and a half movie would be a mistake...one would do well to rewatch this movie and appreciate the range of emotion that it takes to go through this...dts/usa
I also think that there is a lot to be learned from the later Dustin Hoffman roles...dts/usa
Jonathan says that he was good at drawing; has he ever thought about painting icons? dts/usa
Thank
#Jesus
😀
How interesting this is! Thank you George H. Xanthis 🌹
Watching this, it's easier to see the difference between Jonathan and him as Jesus. Such a difference even in his physicality and face! I know there is a bit of costume and makeup that helps but he looks very much like him. Same with George and John. I can see the acting in their character work. They are great professionals.
Jonathan, if you ever have the change to see a very old "the Bishop's Wife" movie, which uses an old Roman coin that gets given back and forth.
Oh my gooseness!!! I love you two! Hilarious!!
Thank you Jonathan, We are truly blessed from your yrs. of training, background, experience & eclipsed by yourlove for Jesus.Seei g the Holy Spirit work through you still gives us chills! Be blessed❤😇😊🙏
Jonathan when you get gray and older he would make an incredible drama teacher, showing the rest of the world. Some of your techniques maybe would have better actors. You’re certainly have change the way I watch television I want more I want more of the actors feelings. I love the fact that you’re spiritually grounded you’re certainly bring that to the screen, may God bless you in the mighty way
We are so blessed to have both of you superb actors on the chosen .Jonathan never disappoints me ,as his portrayal of Jesus. he’s so extremely humble, knowing he’s Christ for a small moment ,it sure comes across in film . I truly don’t think another actor could’ve done Christ in this manner. He was so human but yet spiritually connected to his craft. Love you . May all the glory go to the living God.😊
