20 day camper fishin' mission through Idaho and Oregon with my brother and our dogs.
Don't let the naysayers dissuade you. Any fish is a good fish and it looks like you caught plenty. We are heading to Montana in a couple of weeks. Thanks for sharing
Awesome fishing/travel video I love this even though you only catch dinky rainbows/browns (white fish are trash don't even throw them back in water). Rule #1: do not try local fly shops asking for fishing tips. They won't unless you pay them $1000 plus for the guide service. The visitor center/AAA are so much better than them. Rule #2: Try Wade lake for gigantic rainbows/browns camp there overnight you will see crazy top water action right after sunset you get fish on every cast... pure dry flies nirvana. Rule #3: Ruby river right below the dam for big browns/rainbows/bull
The mountain whitefish is a native species and belong in the water.
@@pianomoverrplus they keep the fisheries healthy.
Great video mate!
@@oldsmugglerflyfishing I appreciate that very much!!

OMG -- your video!! I did this exact backpacking trip 2 years in a row as a teenage Girl Scout back in the late 1960’s. I have literally had recurring dreams of crouching my way through the tunnels and brush to reach the water about it ever since. I always thought about doing this hike again but never did & now I’m not fit enough after cancer. But I was able to experience it so extremely perfectly again by hiking behind you on this trail. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your beautiful trip. Excellent choice of music too! 👍✌️🤘☯️
Gosh thank you so much Laura!! How awesome you got to go on this adventure twice. I feel so blessed to have shared this experience with my brother. This was actually our first backpacking trip and it was something I too will never forget. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video. Your comment made my day!
What lake were the smallmouth bass from at the end?
how long is the drift back from the closest place to the dam
Awesome , your adventuresome like your dad.
Loved it man! Looked like a great time, in a great place, with some great company.
Dude, I appreciate that very much!
Yo~this is perfect ~Cody-👐
Awesome video man, one of the coolest places in the world!
It must have been damn cold? What month was this? Great vid and great music 😊
Headed out here in May to try and target these guys. Awesome video!
Great Video! I've fished there many times with a spinning rod, but I just bought my first fly rod last week and will be using it down there in March. I'm currently shopping for line , leaders and fly's. You mind telling me what type set up you used?
Thank you! Right on! I use floating line, 9 foot leader, a size 14 San Juan Worm red or tan color with a little split shot weight above it, and an airlock indicator. Gonna want to set the indicator pretty high on the leader so you get down to the bottom. Good luck!
Great video! Looks like you guys had a awesome time and a memorable experience!
youll think im lying but in the mid 70s thru mid 80s lees ferry was the best trout fishing in the west, monster trout, our biggest rainbow was over 12 lbs 33 inch, best brook trout was 6lbs, fishery was ruined when they increased flow from glen canyon, it destroyed the native vegetation, fresh water shrimp lived in the moss, it was their main food sourse, the trout flourished, i heard of fish weighing 15-16 lbs being caught, i believed it
damn right big cut bows 😉👍🏾🎣
not as big as my 36” bull trout in Montana though
Nice video. How is streamer fishing there?
