Seeing how dirty you guys are, I am now certain of the origin of the legend of the Sasquatch! Surprisingly, none of the witnesses ever mention the Bike!
Lol 😝 just saw this. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video Todd!
Thank you Patrick!
Nice ride! Congrats on the placing and thanks for sharing!
Thank you
Cool video! At 17:45, are you riding through the Flint Hills? Haven't been there before, but looks like cool topography.
Thank you! Yes, this race was in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Quite stunning scenery.
Great race!
Thank you!
What size tires would you use for this , awesome video😊
Thank you! This race I was on 38’s only because of the mud we experienced during the day. I would much prefer a larger tire volume for this event when it’s dry. 45mm or larger.
Thanks for doing these they are all smart and great !!! Attach the GPX/GPS file with them and upload to Kinomap* and we will all ride along with you in the winter. 🚲😁 (I would say Rouvy* too but they have gotten so corporate and decided to stop supporting user uploaded geolocated videos from riders.....duh) Zwift who ?
Nice video! Epic day
Thank you Miguel? Looking forward to this year! Hopefully you can accommodate us with a little better weather. Lol 😝

Epic Day! Thanks for sharing!
BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME BROTHER 😮
wellhung
lol 😝 my wife noticed the same thing.
❤
Nice job! Confused though, as this wasn't the 88 mile course, results show a 4 hour ride time.
I raced in the 55 to 59 year old age group. This was on the 88 mile course. My race time was 4 hours and 35 minutes.
Gotcha. What camera were you using?
Excuse my ignorance was it a 200 mile race? well done!
205 miles
@@thunsak06 Cheers thank's.
First time that I ever saw lines painted on a gravel road!!
Lol, thanks for the comment
I am actually nursing a pulled muscle in my right shoulder, from all that heavy bottle clutching...I kid you not! 🤣
I used a hydration pack for the first 2/3’s of the race. Hope you’re feeling better.
Bike manufacturers do wind tunnel tests, and then race organizers have plastic numbers hanging from the handlebars LOL.
Ya, I agree. I think they should use roadie transponders instead of mtb # plates. But here we are!
Wow! That was fantastic. Great ride. Y'all are beasts! Great video.
Thank you!
Beter net tym you lose
💪👏💪
Thank you
“Could you be loved,” and then drops the start on “don’t let them fool ya”. Well played DJ.
😝thanks for the comments
Long white socks are super ugly. How did that become a thing? So says old guy missing the 70’s and 80’s.
I know, they look ridiculous. I hope they helped.
Lol, I was wearing white shoes and white socks as well. Gotta be one of the cool kids, lol 😝
Man that was impressive…. You guys were flying… the riders you caught,,were they from other age groups? I heard to race too I had pay 329? Is this for real? The last few kilometres ( because let’s face it, the universal measurement is metric) was intense… that guy that attacked on the left side….wasn’t sure he’d make that final corner, shit he flew in there!😳 thanks for the upload, been waiting for says to see the course. Any idea where it will be next year?
Thanks @lazlo2511. Our race had 3 age groups. 50-54, 55-59 & 60-64. We all started together, but as you saw, I was in a crash 12 miles in, so I was probably close to last place. The riders I passed were all from those age groups. I don’t remember how much I paid, but $329 was the last minute price. If you register earlier, it’s cheaper. Worth the price either way. USAC cycling National Championships events are top notch! Next year will be at the same venue. They run the same for 2 years then change to another state. That guy that came up my inside almost beat me. We had the same finish time. Hard to see in the video, but we were a group of 15 to 20 riders sprinting to the line. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Wohoo, lets go.....
Thanks David, hope you’re doing well.
Super
j'admire vos paysages. c'est ça qui nous manque en france pour faire du Gravel longue distance!
Yes, it is truly beautiful out there. The video really doesn’t do it justice. It is hard to appreciate however when you’re totally gassed! Lol 😝
I don't know why so many people run rigid on their gravel bikes. A cheap as dirt coil suspension fork with 30-40 mm of travel and a cheap suspension seatpost, that's the way to go. It will help with comfort and traction.
You’re probably right @ritchyrich1076. Although most of the roads are fairly smooth, there’s a case for being as light as possible.
hello! everyone
Few reasons for bouncing. Tires too much pressure, bad saddle height (not size properly) wrong tire width choice. Do people ride a mountain Bike hard tail. I would ride a hardtail bike with rigid fork some enve wheels m525 and Maxxis rekon race tires. 😅 I will still run a flat bar 750mm with and full AXS groupset. I did see someone with rim brakes. Got to love that ❤
I did notice quite a few mtb’s with drop bars. Everybody’s got a special bike for Unbound. That’s one of the things I love about this race.
Excellent video! Would love to see a speed and cadence meter on this one. Much love!
Thank you @falaxuper. I haven’t figured out how to make that happen. I know it can be done, but is beyond my technical abilities. Lol
I can't even sit on a bike seat for more than 10 minutes these days. Wow.
Lol, ya Unbound might be a bit long for you. But you never know till you try.
beautiful views,شكرا
Thank you!
that fatbike zooming....
That’s Roy Kranz, he would win the Fat Bike category that day.
@@thunsak06 Not surprised at all as he was too fast.
Muchas gracias, excelente carrera en casa felicidades a los corredores
Thank you, glad you liked the video.
Hi Todd,,what supplement brand or solid food did you use to maintain the 100 carbs per hour ? thanks
Hi Bob, last year I was using scratch super fuel 85 grams per bottle. Scratch hydration in pack with about 20 grams per hour. Then using a mix of sis gels an a few solid energy bars. Only ate solids once every 3 hours just to help settle the tummy a bit. It takes time to train your gut to take on so much sugar for so long, but it’s necessary for these long events.
DIRTY KANZA!!!
Yep!
Watched the whole video. You did great! I’m in my early 60’s and I mtb often but could never do that long of a race with those climbs! Great job.
I’m right behind you as I’m 59. You would be surprised what your body can do with a little training.
outstanding, glad to see the regular guys taking this on, I salute all that participate in any of the distances
Thank you Frank!
Great job Todd. I remember racing against you in OTH and Big Bear/Kenda Cup in SoCal several years ago. I've gotten slower and you've gotten insanely better since.
Hi David, I remember you. We had many a battle. Hope you’re doing well.
Mens 50+ are more sportive than 20+ Great job man! Ride on from Moscow,Russia!
Thank you Sergei! Yes it seems that the older age categories have better participation. Here in California though, the high school categories are huge. Maybe a good sign for the future.
Excelente ótima corrida parabéns a tds os participantes do evento, foi ótimo do início ao fim.
Thank you Adeildo
200 miles, weee that is a long bicycle ride. How many folks do the ride, there seems to be a lot. Thanks for sharing ;<))
Thanks Fred! I believe around 1,500 riders toed the line on this day with about 2/3’s finishing the distance.
congrats,, awesome job,What tires are you using?
Thanks Bob, I was running Gravel King semi slicks in a 38. Would’ve run bigger tires but with the mud opted for something with more clearance.
Quite a good course 👍🏻
Yes, they have put in a lot of work on these trails. Thanks for watching.
Excelente prova parabéns a tds os organizadores, e tbm a tds os participantes.
Thank you Adeildo!
Excellent bro... Finishing the race is more important.🎉🎉
Thank you Gaurav! Finishing this is no small task.
Good effort mate!
Thank you Manny!
Nice video! 🙂
Thank you John!
rolling th un der
Thank you!
21:42 that guy is so badass! "Screw your gravel bikes, I'm sending it"
Lol, that fat biker is Roy Kranz. Multi time winner of Unbound 200. He would win on this day as well. He has some videos of his own. You should check them out.
Thought the same too 😂😂😂, zooms by and never seen again, like Speedy Gonzales .... Long live MTB and fat bikes!
@@thunsak06Thanks for the info!
