This committee certainly need some diversity! I listened to this whole meeting , I found it to be very bias and judgmental. Based on the committees, personal identification, with the issue being presented to them! The committee read this lady’s hardship , she presented a doctors note along with her reasoning , for not being able to take the test on time was due to her personal medical reasoning that included a financial hardships where she had to apply for state assistance and YOU STILL deny her! Your committees reason for denying her, “financial hardship due to medical reasons is not a personal hardship and not an excuse” 🙄 My question is how is it not?! The CE classes require time , money and the mental/physical ability to achieve (Right) make it make sense! Moreover right after denying her you go on to approve someone that was not personally sick himself was dealing with taking care a sick parent . However, you approve them because you personally identified with them dealing with a parent that had dementia and you clearly said that you can identify! approved! You also denied someone that was dealing with a baby in ICU could’ve been a life and death situation, he clearly stated this was a painful stressful time in his life but you Denied him as well 😒 How is that fair that you can make a judgment on someone else’s personal hardship because you can’t identify . Therefore you justify Penalize them financially (🥴). I’m sure you know realtors struggle to make a dollar in this industry you justify $300 to $700 for being late to class! Make it make sense?! This is exactly why realtors are quitting and working real estate cutting out the middle controllers that will always make away to take away🤑I The RE license each year is becoming more and more of a money pit and over rated . The license is losing its value due to all the ways realtors have to agree to get more and more taking advantage of one way or another to maintain an license. Perhaps Adding some other AGE groups and ETHNICITIES might help bring some balance to the Flintstone committee . You all spent the first 15 minutes talking about the old times . I’m willing to bet there’s NO one on this board under 50 to 90+🤔 ? There’s nothing wrong with being older ,but you can’t be so stuck in past times and your own ways that you won’t agree if you can’t personally identify . After watching this I was left with impression that this committee is out of touch with reality & real life which is a problem for all realtors that are looking for support not to be financially burdened by your “ judgmental financial penalties” Real Estate is changing STOP working against the realtors that’s trying to hold on to the dwindling value of a real estate license!

PSI had no problem cashing the check I sent them. As an applicant, the lack of feedback, and the check being non-refundable does not add any incentive for PSI to get paid. PSI has no issue approving people who meet the clear cut requirements, anything subjective is $150 down the drain. I followed Richard HurlBurt's suggestion, got letters notarized from co-workers, and sent those in to PSI. I'm glad I had 2 copies made, but now one set is gone. If I recall correctly, PSI said they wouldn't accept a copy of the letters with the notary signature shaded in for visibility. The licensing is regulated by the Dept of CONSUMER PROTECTION, so in essence this whole licensing process should determine whether a license applicant knows enough industry common "what you dont know you don't knows" to ensure consumer safety. And also the safety of the applicant. This is why experience AND education is so important; however, there should be an easier work around. The applicant should be able to show safe-minded working knowledge. For many companies, the incentive to apprentice employees in HVAC related licenses is not there. Company has to pay the employee more, and the license provides the employee more freedom. Also for many small HVAC companies the paperwork system is tricky to navigate - adding an additional burden on top of any additional cost such as cost of the apprenticeship application. If an unapprenticed Electrician gets electrocuted on a jobsite, there's little excuse as to that person working unapprenticed. In HVAC related work, its easier for the employer to designate the individual as a "laborer." If they were to get hurt, from the employers perspective they were touching something they shouldn't have been. The employee is unable to apprentice themselves. FWIW I think the test should have both an open and closed book section. The current test setup simply tests whether or not an applicant can reference the book. After taking a few practice tests many of the terms that are used on certain items are obscure, outdated, or appear random. If I recall correctly on those practice tests, there were several poorly worded questions - leading to subjective answers. Example of a bad test question: What fuel source provides the most energy in the US? A.) Nuclear B.) Coal C.) Gas D.) Solar Gas could be gasoline, natural gas, and/or propane. This answer was incorrect. Energy was not a great word choice. The "correct" answer is the one noticeably of place capital letter in this comment.

The "no inspection" in writing is fine, but wording should be added that it's acceptable that inspections be for "informational purposes" only.

Politically appointed CAR members are stripping small businesses of their civil liberties, trade, and constitutional rights or trunring their backs on the small business person. Very sad. Connecticut needs a new association that stops this regulatory madness.
