My dad bought a lot at Holden beach in 1976. We had a center console fishing boat, an old army jeep and a 1960 mobile home. He got to know Bruce Matthews who owned cedar landing by the old draw bridge. He was a cool guy, I loved being around him. I remember in 1982 he was arrested on drug charges and under a 2.5 million dollar bond. There was a lot of folks in Brunswick co involved. The sheriff,DA all kinds of folks went down. Bruce never got out of prison, he died in there. RIP Bruce!

I grew up in Varnamtown and had family go to prison in the 80s.My 1st husband's Dad went to prison because of the last bust.
