Yes, the dead girl's mother made her sick on purpose so she could get attention for caring for her. She was wearing red at the funeral instead of black, surrounded by people giving her attention and sympathy. Someone at the funeral also said that the younger daughter was starting to get sick. The ghost girl saved her younger sister's life!

This is one of those perfect scripts that you can catch more and more things you missed the first time you watch it.

IRL both David Morse and James Cromwell are about the same height as Michael Clarke Duncan. 😇They used planks, a small bed and smaller chair along with trick photography/angles to make John look taller. 12 The scene where John takes Mr. Jingles for safe keeping before Del's execution, they used a real mouse, and it pooped on Paul's shoulder, and he brushed it off. 13. When the doctor was listening to the recording, it was a recording of one of his sessions with the man who killed him, when that man was still a child. He finally heard what the child heard, a desperate Spanish man--a ghost--begging for his life. So Vincent, his killer, saw dead people as a child just like Cole, but the doctor didn't help him. That's what made the doctor go back to help Cole. He finally understood and believed Cole.
