the most research that i've done for a guitar tone, i scouted gear forum posts from ~20 years ago just to get the slight room reverb and the guitar tracks panned accurately so, 4 guitar tracks panned 100/25/25/100 and 2 chug tracks panned hard left and right might do kirk's tone as well idk...

i think the cleans can definitely be worked on. i don't know for sure if the left panned distortion guitars are supposed to fade in or if it's just the isolated guitar track that i've listened to also we're close to 100 subs, thats pretty cool

a gap of 1 day between uploads???? unbelievable this was the hardest thing to track, i have 11 iterations of this and the one that you're listening to is the final one, i've tried "slaving" amp plugins, recorded 5 tracks, then re-recorded them because they didn't sound right, changed a lot of ir's and settings and it led me to this. hope you'll like it

you're right, it's either due to the fact that i am not playing it right or i didn't record enough tracks. i was happy with the overall results until i uploaded it and listened again and again
@@ghastyy09i wouldn't say is any of that, the first thing to come in my head was that maybe your distortion or your pickups didn't had a good high string tone but watching your sanitarium lead cover I don't think it's that tho, also you played it in the bridge pickup position or the bridge?
@@Alemust4 bridge pickup, i tried recording it using the neck pickup as well, but it still didn't sound right to my ears

thanks! the chorus is optional imo, andy wallace used the symphonic setting (basically a chorus) from the yamaha spx90 on a lot of bass parts from nevermind and he decided to add it on the clean guitars from lithium and come as you are. it is there, but very subtle. there's a plugin emulating that, so i used it to get a more faithful recreation of the tone.

This is a really close and good tone. It's not perfect, but that's good because the original justice tone sounds really flat and thin almost. This sounds a little chunkier and heavier than the original. What I'm trying to say is it sounds better than Metallica's tone. Great job!

yeah i made a track and lowered the volume until i couldnt hear anything and then another 12 db just to be sure

to me it's the gain, i've tried lowering it earlier today, but it doesn't sound right to me. i don't have emg pickups on my guitar, maybe getting a set of those would help?
@@ghastyy09 yes and no, emgs will help you get closer to the tone but they wont change the gain that you are getting. Just might need to lower the gain or change the eq
A little too much gain and the tracks are just a *hair* off in terms of timing, which can definitely affect how we perceive the tone. other than that, i need the eq settings for this tone so bad and like yesterday, the scoop is so real and raw here!
