East Texas Showdown 2024: Muddy Trails, Beautiful Tales
The ETS2024 was a mudfest, due to the torrential rains unleashed the previous night. This video captures both the beauty and the pain of the ride, as I do the easiest 170-mile "Lowdown" route version. We start out optimistic, make peace with the mud, and ride together when we can.

Three days cycling the CiclaMadrid route, a path that showcases the beautiful scenery around Madrid. Turns out it's a little more XC than gravel, but it was still fun. 0:00 Intro 0:32 Day 1 2:55 Day 2 5:50 Day 3
Riding the GRVL College Station 100

I set out to ride a 100 mile gravel route near College Station on a cold day in January 2024. The overcast morning eventually turned into an amazing golden hour and dusk. It was a grueling 12 hour ride, and the first half was rather dull, but by the end I was glad to have come out. gravelmap.com/map/route/113323-grvl-college-station-100 0:00 - start from car 0:54 - first dog 2:07 - second set o...

I tried a practice bike ride for the East Texas Slowdown route, but made some mistakes and just didn't have the endurance to complete it. The Soba Loop: Cycling Up a Mountain Around Kyoto
มุมมอง 34ปีที่แล้ว
The Soba Loop is a route up the mountains around Kyoto to the Koshihata Friend Park Matsubara soba restaurant. It is surrounded by fields of buckwheat, cherry trees, and not much else! I met Ojiro and Daiyan at the top by chance, and they taught me how to eat soba. We were almost about to leave when I reminded them we needed to get the soba pudding too! Some of the most beautiful parts were on ...

Did you hire your bike in Seville? I'm out there in a few weeks and looking to do some gravel spins. Thanks.

If I remember correctly, I rented from Rent a Bike Sevilla. They have two locations, so it's important to reserve ahead of time because they may need to transfer between them. I loved the hardtail I got and paid for insurance just because I felt like the rental was so cheap. I went pretty remote, so be sure to double check your spare tubes / patch kit. There is a route up to the roman ruins that looked nice (two of them, one is better I think) just make sure they're open the day you go.

Hope the slowdown was fun. I was looking for something close to my 40th bday to do in February 2025. I live in Indiana and came across this event that I assume will happen in march again next year ? Planning on doing the slowdown. The weather looks perfect 👌 I tent camp in weather down to 30 degrees at my property up here so it will feel amazing down there in March.

I use gravelmap.com to find most of my routes, here is the page for this one: gravelmap.com/map/route/97342-four-notch -- lots of treecover here, so not a bad idea for summer!

Can you post a map link to the starting location, or where i can find this route? I live in Montgomery and work in bcs frequently. I'd like to do something out there thats not just drinking, but it seems like thats all cstst has. Bikes are more just transportation than fur fun out there

This one I was worried about resupply so I started exactly 50 miles away from where I knew I could find food and water. I used Waze to navigate to "Lake Donna V" at the top there. I use gravelmap.com to source a lot of these routes, I just added a link to the video description. There's a lot of gravel out there, and if you like the site, stringing the road sections together to define a new route could be something rad to do!

Yes, it was my first major gravel ride too, just remember to turn back when you've used half your water, and go slow if it's too bumpy -- the fast sections irritated my wrists. Pros: * Several loops, so very adjustable * Lots of tree cover, beautiful scenery * Close to Houston * Variety of gravel: embedded, loose, and dirt * Well-defined parking area Cons: * Some bumpy downhills * Water only at opposite end
