    My take on the generalist vs. specialist debate: every generalist is a specialist and vice versa. It's the shape of the 'T' that defines the individual. For a generalist, the horizontal leg of the T is much longer than the vertical leg, which means he or she does possess some skill which is more pronounced than the rest in their armoury. Conversely, for a specialist, the vertical leg of the T is more evolved. A leader should identity with a large T, where the vertical leg is team building skill (with clear vision).
