Back in the day we called these pot holders. Technology marches on!
HaHa, you are right! very similar concept but just sewn a little difirent to make the bowl-like shape but yes, basically just a potholder!
just to help a little try finding the center yarn string and then U dont have to worry about unraveling every few. Good video.

It's a freeform crochet project so I just made it up but it's pretty easy if you know how to do very basic amigarumi, I'm not a skilled crocheter at all so I'm sure you can do it too!
