I own the exact twin. Mine has power sunroof of which only 500 of the 2099 cars had. The 14 inch wheels are considered part of the comfort package, with more compliant sidewalls. Fun Fact, new corvettes sold for about 7K in 1976 while a new 912E sold for 13K, that’s quite a difference! Looking forward to this series.

Zalex also makes a starter adapter ring that is super. It fits the case even when on the build stand also.

Great video, wish I’d seen this before I renewed my bushings, I still need to figure out which way to adjust the coupling as I’m hitting reverse too often when I go for 2nd gear (902)

Gary should appreciate the wood steering wheel, originals are hard to find and command $$$. I think its one of best features of the early SWB cars. The "lenkrad m.holzkranz" was an option for the 912 in 1966. Back in the 80's in a Porsche restoration body shop, we had a customer with a knarly scar on his crooked nose, at the time I was in my early twenties and had a wooden wheel on my rusty 68 912. I cant recall the exact words, but said to the effect, young man, I would get rid of that steering wheel immediately, pointing to his nose, 32 stitches 3 surgeries etc etc . guy nearly died in an accident with a wooden wheel. That haunted me, funny, I actually updated said car to a Carrera look, body and interior with black 3 spoke leather , what was I thinking? , probably sold that wheel for 50 bucks at a swap meet. In 1968 I think the US highway safety council passed a law requiring softer materials for the 1969 models onwards , wood was out. Anyhow if you are still reading, I haven't wised up, in fact have thrown caution to the wind , just today I found myself ripping around town in my 66 with the original wooden wheel , speaking of which, I will try that oil you mentioned in the video, mine could use a little light sanding and refinish. 07 S, GREAT year, 997 is soon to be a classic generation. I've got the 07 C2 coupe, really wish it was an S, nice upgrades, both performance, power and appearances. FANTASTIC wheels and color combination Congragulations!!! Saving the manuals... DId u notice it included the new PCCM sound system? Excellent, worthwhile update, installed, over $2000, original way oudated, for me, this was a must
