    Thanks for the series. I've just booked a swim-up king room for early Dec. Re your tipping: just leave the tip on the table. It is likely pooled and split, no need to hand it to the servers. Re long pants: on their website i didn't see any formal wear requirements. Bonus! Wear pants if you want but not needing to is fantastic (for fellas). us females get away with a lot. Did you love the beach? Other than a speeding driver - how long did it take to get to Secrets Tide? And how early did they pick you from resort to go to the airport? Our package is through Westjet.

      Glad you enjoyed my videos. I nont know if it was a good reason, but we had so many attentive servers and some that only cleaned the table. Not sure if the tips are split. The beach was beautiful. The pools were beautiful. The return pickup time was arranged by the folks there and was a bit early because they picked up at other resorts also. Went fairly smoothly. Hope you have a great trip !!

    • @ourtbay
      @ourtbay 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We could have ordered a room with a Jacuzzi on our balcony. We chose not to and just enjoyed the ones on the property. I must say though, I was envious of the swim up rooms. When purchasing the room we decided it was not really needed , we would just walk to the on site pools. BUT, after watching people enjoy their swim ups, and then they walked to the bigger pools. I wished we had a swim up for early morning, late evening swims.

    do you regret taking on this project? I can only imagine how many 10's of thousands of dollars you are into it (and only 60% done) let alone time and effort. there is no way this boat will last more than 5-6 years if the floor didnt even make it 2. I respect your effort and you're trying to do a good job but holy I'm pretty much using this series as an example of what not to do. Would have been better off buying a newish used boat for $25K and hitting the lake later that day. Also, A big wave like you mentioned in another comment would probably shear the cabin right off. (The reason the original design was 1/2 the height.) Large pilot houses are integrated into the hull, not placed and top and bolted down.

    • @ourtbay
      @ourtbay 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Truthfully, I do regret taking on this project. One big downfall was I do not have a winterized garage to work on it. So it only leaves me summer time. And in the summer, I want to do all kinds of other things, like fishing. I am not worried about the cabin, it is pretty solid. But each year that passes, it is getting older along with me. Want to buy a boat? Ha Ha

      @@ourtbay it is covered with a carport. Do you think it's worth it to go with an inboard? Or should I just switch to an outboard? There is nothing left of the motor or outdrive.

    • @ourtbay
      @ourtbay 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A carport should help for sure, walls help even more. I did look into using outboard vs inboard when I was at that stage. I am by no means an expert, With an outboard the weight is behind the transom of the boat, like a lever and fulcrum. This puts a lot of extra weight on the back of the boat. I cannot remember the name of the device, but it is like a large metal float that is fastened to the transom, the engine fastens to that, this helps support the extra weight. Seems like it would look ok, and work, but is a big decision that I am not able to help with.

      They had coke with no sugar, three time the caffeine, not labeled as Coke 0. I find that tastes way too syrupy. I prefer Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi, but they did not have any. No sleeveless shirts or flip-flops. Long pants required for men. I have seen some guys wearing shorts and no one said anything. I feel since the restaraunts are trying their best to offer high end service for us to enjoy, and we are trying to show our partners that we care enough about them to dress up a little, for them, why not pack a pair of long pants and a shirt for these events. During the day you can eat at the barefoot grill, or the market grill in your shorts and feel right at home. Hope that answers your question.

    Cool concept. That little air conditioner is not designed to cool that kind of space. You’re better off just buying a condenser/evaporator designed for food refrigeration, or go buy a used commercial refrigerator. Does the same thing.

    • @ourtbay
      @ourtbay ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for your comments. I know the little air conditioner is not designed for this. But for the amount of time I will require it, if I get lucky and get a moose, I am sure it will last. I ran it for six hours in my garage non stop and had no issues with it. the box stayed approx. 7 degrees Celsius and the air conditioner kept working. The design is so the unit can be broken down and reassembled quickly. A commercial refrigerator would not suit my intentions for this little unit. It simply would not suit my needs. Have a Great Day!

    Absolutely beautiful boat and project, very nice job. How much do you think the stripped hull weighs??? By the way, as an advise, try to avoid silicone caulking in Marine environments, better use Polyurethane or Polysulfides, they stick better and do not interfere with paint jobs.

      Thanks for your comments and advice. Not sure how much the stripped hull weighs. Another thing to remember is DO NOT use the Hull as your ground for wiring electrolysis will eat at your metal. I sure wish I had a big enough garage to work on this project in the winter. It would have been done by now!! Take Care !

    I have a 643 bobcat. What model blower is that. I’m trying to get prepared before this winter.

      Hi, Sorry, My snow blower is in my back garage. I can tell you that it is a Bobcat make and is 48 inch wide. Your 643 has a wee bit more power would probably throw the snow pretty good with it. When I get to it, I will add model to your comment. Have Fun !!

      We stayed at lacdesmille.com/ one year. It was a long way into the lodge, we had a motorhome back then. Fishing was not too bad. I think walleye are plentiful in all areas of this lake. This fall when we went, it was hot, and second morning we played in a bay that only had 8 feet of water. Hard to catch anything but pike. But it was great scenery.

    Dude, you need to have someone demo how to connect hydraulic hoses. You are going to hurt yourself and/or the system.

    • @ourtbay
      @ourtbay ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. If you watch my other videos on my Bobcat, you will see why I was having an issue, and a good way to easily put on the hoses in this environment. If it was a new machine it would be so simple with the pressure relief valves, but alas it is up in years.

    Great job. Once I saw you build the support system for the boat and how stout you made it, I had no question about your ability to do a fantastic job on the rest of the project. You knocked it out of the park.

    I think the cedar deck is a good idea. Light and rot resistant.
