So do you start the email with: "My name is XYZ and I am the mother of ABC" or you just skip putting you name and just say" I am the mother of ABC...."? How about if the email is from both parents? Do you write: "Our names are X and Y and we are the parents of ABC"?

Hi You guys are doing a really good job. Thanks for this video. I don't agree totally with your predictions. When you look at your model map " The sea ice story" the prediction of the model (gray) goes below the pink and it will reach the 0 line in 2040. Another thing is the methan on the ground of the sibirean shelf is not included in the models and also not the burning wild fires around the globe, The sibirean shelf stores 1000 times more methan than what is currently in the atmosphere. The water of the shelf is only around 50 meters deep and warms up very fast.. Your models need to be adjusted a lot and flexible for updates . In my opinion changes in human behavior will not happen anyway and countries like China , India and Africa don't have the capacity ( and the will ) economically. We are moving into a phase of a very fast changing climate now and need a plan how to survive that. Sorry to say that but there is no chance not even a small chance to change the trend.

This video has 30 views (4 of which are me), while recent cat videos have a million views… Anyone care to guess what that means as to humanity’s (ok, let’s go there… this epoch of life’s) chances of surviving? The ‘Great Dying’ may have to be renamed (if there’s anyone around to uncover, understand the record, and comment thereupon). We are on track to FAR exceed that particular extinction. As those ‘in the know’ put it, it’s all about RATE OF CHANGE, and earths never seen the like of what we’re putting her through right now. Yes, George Carlin is obviously correct - Earth will be fine. What he got wrong is that he amener on to say it’s humans that are fucked… Wrong George! What a (xenophobic) anthropocentric viewpoint… it’s LIFE on this planet as it currently exists that’s fucked… If it was only humans, I’d say good riddance. We are not a particularly worthwhile species. But LIFE?!!! That we continue to (knowingly!) engage in behaviors that threaten ALL LIFE on this planet? We, as a species, must truly be insane!

Jennifer, if you’re reading this, you mention what might be done with the $600,000,000,000.00 ((I thought it important to put the number out there with all the zeros so folk could grasp its immensity) that US taxpayers subsidize the fossil fuel industry that is, at the same time gouging them at the pump, while producing record profits!… The promise of $100,000,000,000.00 (signed by the US!!!) to countries in the global south to compensate them for damages caused by historical emissions made… years ago and NEVER funded by the global North. As thé world’s largest historical emitter of climate warming greenhouse gases, it’s pretty obvious the US could fully fund that promise by itself (while still subsidizing the fossil fuel industry at a a rate of 5 to 1) - but we haven’t… Any reference to what you can do as an individual plays into the narrative framed by corporations and governments worldwide interested ONLY in furthering the status quo. That being those with the most write the rules that enable those with the most to continue the system that enables them to write the rules that enable them to have the most… Get yourself educated. Read Thomas Picketty’s Capitalism in the 21st Century, and follow up with his Capitalism and Ideology. It’s NOT what changes we can make as individuals that matter! ONLY systemic change stands a chance of righting this sinking boat! Best we get about the business at hand!

I'm one of Penelope's 10th great-granddaughters and proud to have a genuine legend in the family. Like many descendants, I've been looking for evidence of Penelope, and perhaps it's because I'm a retired literature professor that I'm not disappointed to discover that her story is folklore, not history. All 12 versions of the legend published between 1765 and 1916 differ, and because no primary sources have been found to verify any of the details, it's impossible to determine which--if any--of the information is accurate. There are no primary sources for her parents, birth, emigration, possible first marriage, or death. The date of her marriage to Stout is unknown, and there's no record of a shipwreck (or a stranding, as some accounts have it) which would plausibly fit the one known fact about her early life: her testimony in Gravesend in 1648, where she was known as Penelope Prince. Because the Dutch referred to women by their names at birth, regardless of marital status, we can't use this to date the Stouts' marriage. But the name "Penelope Prince," her residence in New Netherland's English settlement of Gravesend, her marriage to the Englishman Stout, and the English names of her children all suggest she was English, rather than Dutch, as assumed in the legend. The claims that her maiden name was "Vanprinces" and that she lived to be 110 can both be traced to the second published account of the legend (Edwards 1792). It wrongly assumed she emigrated to New Netherland in 1620. (The colony wasn't founded until 1624.) Jim McFarlane, author of the historical novel about Penelope that's cited in the talk, makes it easy to read and compare the various versions of the legend. Find a link below to "Penelope: A Changing Tale," which includes the complete texts of 12 versions of the narrative. The page includes a link to purchase Mr. McFarlane's novel. I grew up in Hopewell. Big thanks to the museum for posting this interesting talk and best wishes to Stout cousins everywhere. 1) Jim McFarlane, "Penelope: A Changing Tale." www.jim-mcfarlane.com/Documentation/Documentation.html 2) Penelope Prince, 12 September 1648 deposition, in "History of Gravesend and Coney Island, New York" (1884): p 12. babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=njp.32101066479674&view=1up&seq=7&skin=2021 3) Discussion of the 1648 case on "Searching for Penelope Stout" (blog). searchingforpenelopestout.blogspot.com/2013/06/the-1648-slander-trial.html

No it was Richard Stout, she wasn't born a stout. She did have a man who she was suppose to marry but died in a native American attack, may have been John Kent. The other story is that she was servant to the Kent family and later ran away being found by Natives.
