Untitled Hawaiian Slack Key Song by Alan Fasick Written for a songwriting challenge for Jeff Peterson's slack key workshop, jeffpetersonguitar.com I haven't decided on a name for it yet Played on my Taylor NS34ce with D'Addario Pro Arte strings in C Wahine tuning, or Keola's C, CGDGBE. Recorded with a Blue Yeti Pro microphone connected to an iPhone 7 via a TASCAM iXR interface.
This is a delightful song, Alan. I became entranced with the melody, which sounds both familiar and new.
Thank you! I realized after I wrote it that you can sing the title of the song to the melody -- which wasn't intentional but you could say it was a happy little accident.

So I just spent the evening setting up my Strat for new strings and spent about 2 hours playing over a bunch of blues backing tracks. Then this came on, put the Strat down, enjoy, go to bed. Mahalo friend, can't wait to play with you again soon,

Thanks! Yes, it's a Taylor GS Mini -- they did a run of koa ones back in 2015, solid top with laminate back and sides. Koa has a sweet, bright tone that opens up in the mid range with age -- works well for finger picking, but can be too much when strummed with a pick.
