@matrix1791h. I have win 7 pro 64 bit edition and i have the sidewinder with out force feed back and it works just fine. You have to download the microsoft support driver for the x-box game pad and it recognizes it

I have the impression that the Microsoft wheel I have used is lighter and easier to turn than Fanatec. This is my only consideration, which I have to get used to.

The wheel is loaded with features! It has many buttons to use and customize, paddle shifters (small but easy to use without the additional add-ons from fanatec). It's greatest feature in my opinion is the 5 setups you can store on the wheel regardless of the game, and you can adjust every one of them even during race without the need to return to the menu or abort the game. I use a lot the feature adjusting the Force Feedback force to my liking from 10% to 100%.

Then from within the game I selected Custom Wheel as controller option and calibrated (customized actually) the wheel. There was no problem although I know that officially, drivers do not exist for this wheel. Microsoft says wheel is not supported under Windows 7 x 64, but that is not what actually happens.
