Anyone else think both After Dark and Mary On A Cross, their slow and reverbed versions are the perfect songs for Vader/Anakin in general.

"Anakin is gone, I am what remains..." This quote is devastating mainly because Vader is essentially accepting he's nothing but leftovers of what he was. He's accepting how hopeless his situation really is, he can't be Anakin anymore, because Anakin doesn't exist.

".. I knew of Anakin during the Clone Wars in passing. I was in charge of an Outer Rim fleet. Destroyed multiple CIS fleets. Then he visited and the person I saw in front of me was not Anakin Skywalker but stood in his place was Darth Vader. I went on to join him, become his Apprentice and become his fleets Admiral. The day we visited Naboo was somber. I had never seen him cry before and I had been by his side for 15 years. 5 years later and we found out that he had died. Lord Vaders fleet was absolutely massive massive and was referred to as Darth Vader's fleet. After he died though, the fleet vanished and was severely upgraded. Thrawn was in the middle of a massive battle against the biggest Rebel fleet when Vader's Revenge appeared behind Thrawns fleet and moved through it and at the Rebel fleet. The Galaxy soon heard of the return of Vaders fleet and rumours soon got around saying that we returned from the dead to avenge Darth Vader and we let them happen because that is exactly we did"

The last 20 seconds of the Clonewars animated series framed up Vader so much differently than than I'd perceived him before. I could never see the two characters as being even tangentially connected given the mannerism changes, but glimpsing Anakin's eyes through the visor glass hit different. That single moment bridges the two characters, and it's changed everything in Starwars for me.
