You don't need mirrors on the track. And you legally need them on the way to the track. But I can't tell if they're working properly. I wouldn't buy them myself.

Depends on where you live or where you're driving to :D Surely you don't need it in LA downtown or in London :D But some folks might now be able to get home in winter every day without this system.

You will use it pretty often in a snowy climate like Minnesota where I live. They symmetrical all wheel drive is also very secure in the wet.

I need it every time we go camping and every winter to go from home to work when we get 20 inch of snow... They don't make AWD for fun... just because you don't need it does not mean the whole world does not need it. So in my opinion many 200-300 times per year :)

Actually, I use it everyday, even in dry weather. It’s helpful when it rains & extremely helpful in snow. Not to mention off road when camping, fishing & hunting. While FWD vehicles are slipping & sliding trying to gain traction in snow, I have already passed you & I’m waving in my rear view mirror! I hope I answered your question! Subaru AWD can’t be beat.

Crossclimate tires really aren´t good for everything. Especially not for deeper snow and ice. Summer tires for summer and good winter tires for winter. Especially for terrain.

Surprised that X-mode made so much difference. Other tests I have seen show it to be better, but not night and day difference like in this video.

@@anthonyjulson8840 I guess what really surprised me was how poorly it did without x-mode, especially with winter tires. I have an Impreza, and looking at that hill, it didnt seem so difficult.

I have an Impreza and I haven’t had any issues with winter driving, except for some scraping on snow and ice because of the ground clearance. I got some larger all terrain tires and am installing a 1” lift soon. Between those it will give me 2” more clearance. Not quite as high as the Crosstrek, but good enough for where I drive. No X mode but hills haven’t been a problem, even when I had all seasons on it.

jmen8888 that’s not true. My stock tires...Yokohama Geolandar G91F that it comes with did just fine for me in our last years snow storm. We ended up with more than 40 inches of snow in 4 days. I had no problem at all. I am considering snow tires this year for better stopping power.
