How to Fix Double Pointed Needles Gap AFTER | Ladders Knitting Tutorial
มุมมอง 717ปีที่แล้ว
Here’s a knitting tutorial on how to fix a gap or laddering retroactively in between your double pointed needles. I always run into this issue when making cables or some sort of design. I’ve tried knitting tighter in between the two needles, but that leads to skewed lines in the final work. There are plenty of videos on how to prevent this, but I could never figure out how to fix it after it’s ...

Better late than never and just in time for autumn! Now that it’s officially fall, I’m thinking back to all the beautiful times of summer. This is a compilation of knitting and vlog clips from my summer this year. No matter how much I love it, I've struggled with consistently knitting, especially in the summer heat. But this was a special hat, so I’m glad I stuck with it and I love the end resu...

Happy holidays!
She's a gift. Look how God made her. Sometimes it felt like she was actually dancing to the song. 😂
Happy new year to you
thank you so much, this was so helpful and easy to understand! ❤
Hey thanks for the video ! I’m interested in making my own patterns and was wondering how you began learning how to make patterns and figuring out calculations etc ? ☺️
Hey! Sorry for my delayed message. I wish I had a more concrete answer, but it's mainly trial and error as I go. Hoping to make a video about my process in the future. Thanks for watching!
I recently became a big fan of Sabrina Carpenter and got this idea for a tour outfit design ahead of her new album! Now if only I had: - a sewing machine - the means, the willpower, and the talent - concert tickets 🫠
I'm obviously still going to use this yarn, but I'll learn for the future. 😅 📍I bought this yarn from The Sweater Shop in Dublin. The lady who helped me pick it out was super nice and they do sell Irish yarn (just not what I picked out). The store I initially wanted to go to was called This is Knit, but they were closed.
I chose a lucky pebble from the streets of Dublin to join me for my first Taylor Swift concert! I spy with my little tired eye, tiny as a firefly A pebble that we picked up last July Down deep inside your pocket, we almost forgot it Does it ever miss Wicklow sometimes?
BEAUTIFUL.😍😍
Thank you! 😊
It's 2024, but I still appreciate this video. I just found your channel, but I've been watching knitting videos for a while, even before the pandemic started. Your videos, especially this video, really resonate with me as someone who has been knitting for about 10ish years. Thank you for posting this!
Thanks for your sweet message!
Can you translate this into a round knitting needle too?
Yes of course! In the video, I used double-pointed needles, but off-screen I knitted my second sleeve the same way instead with circular needles. A 16-inch set of circular needles should work well!
I've always struggled with this pesky gap between my double pointed needles. I couldn’t figure out how to fix it while saving my work… until now! Hope this helps!
Anyone else catch the ghost at 3:52? Just in time for spooky szn! 👻
Let's just pretend I edited this to be exactly 13 minutes long 😅
Love ITTTTTTT
It's finally spring!!
Does it still count if I post on the last day of the year?? I am so dead I will update this later with the pattern <3 Happy NYE!
literally just discovered you and watched a bunch of your videos in one sitting and first, you have the most soothing voice ever ???? it is so sweet i absolutely loved listening to you talk, i would listen to anything you have to say,, second, i crochet not knit (i want to learn knitting so bad) but i think the situations are pretty much similar in the fibre arts community i would say. i do rely a lot on tutorials and stuff to learn new stitches or patterns but i do genuinely prefer watching crochet w me (recently, knit w me bc that's how bad i wanna learn knitting) or like stitch and bitch vids like these a lot more. it makes me feel more human idk if that makes sense but it feels nice to see that we are not supposed to be machines and crocheting and knitting takes a shit tonne of time and it makes me feel less bad abt myself? i give myself a lot of shit for not completing a certain project in a particular amt of time and that has lead me to crocheting non stop even without bathroom breaks and i rlly fucked up my spine too. tmi i know, but i think the rise of these simpler, crochet or knit w me videos have shown me that its completely normal to be slow and not put pressure on myself. okay i have spoken too much for now. just adding again that i absolutely love listening to you and i am very very glad i found you <333
Thank you for the kind words. My imposter syndrome with knitting has actually kept me from knitting as much as I want. So it's very reassuring to hear that others feel the same. Hoping to have more fun with knitting in 2023 <3
I’ve been in a knitting slump, so I tried to knit every day in August 🫐🌻🦆👟.
I didn't plan to be gone for so long, but I'm happy to be back. This is a bunch of my thoughts on knitting, KnitTube, and Bellish.
👍thank you!!
bellish has now shut down
Whoa, you are so super talented and skilled my dear friend :) it was so super good :)
When your new year's resolution is to post videos monthly, but you mess it all up in January… oof. Here is my first knit sweater. I’m not in love with it, but I’m glad I tried. These are the row by row instructions: Row 1: Cast on 84 st, join in the round Row 2-17: Create ribbing pattern (k1p1), in the round, at a lifeline on the last row Row 18-46: Create stockinette pattern with just the knit stitch, in the round, add another lifeline on the last row and remove the needles from half of the stitches Row 47-100, back of sweater: With 44 st on your needles, starting with a knit row, alternating knit rows (odd) and purl rows (even) knitting flat to build up stockinette, ending with purl stretchy bind off Row 47-100, front of sweater: With 40 st on your needles, build up the 4 row design design, ending with purl stretchy bind off Seam together the edges with mattress st and leave a neck opening of 11 st on both the front and back (22 total). For the neck, yo and knit 2 rows of ribbing, follow the stretchy bind off.
Did you have some food today,,???
this is an awesome video-- i'll definitely save this for next year because i know I'll be procrastinating getting gifts until the last minute! lol. also, you deserve SOOO many more subscribers!! your videos are amazing! keep up the good work :) 💞💞
Good luck with the knitting next year and thanks so much for the kind words! I hope to have lots in store for the new year.🤞
How could you even see let alone learn way too confusing I'm sorry but wow your talented !! Good luck
I promised to knit my full sweater from my balloon sleeve video as my next video, but I’ve been dealing with some health problems recently. So I decided to do some super easy and quick knits instead. I tried recreating the Try Guys’ holiday knits. I plan on knitting up my full sweater and doing a straight needle balloon sleeve tutorial next, but in the meantime happy holidays!
I hope you’re feeling better soon:( health always comes first , at least for me so make sure to take good care of yourself:((
@@Rina-yr3bg Thank you for the well wishes!
And I think it’s super scary how they can take ANY information from you from your adress and credit card information all the way to your hight ….
Oof yeah it's crazy how much info these apps and sites actually take. I usually don't look into these things much and check any boxes without actually reading them (ignorance is bliss I guess 😩) but I definitely should going forward.
@@knotarushi yeah I don’t usually do that too but after your video I thought I’d look through it and even though I really like the app I deleted it from my phone since I didn’t feel to safe using it anymore
I read through the terms and policy but to me it wasn’t really clear if we’d be allowed to sell what we made with bellish so I made more research and found this :Bellish patterns can only be used for personal knitting projects and not for commercial use. You cannot sell any patterns created with Bellish. So no we can’t sell the made items
Not you reading through the entire terms of service 😳 thanks for clarifying that though haha, it's good information to know!
Plz make more videos
Will do! It seems like I’m on a bimonthly upload schedule right now. Oof, will hopefully get myself sorted in the new year. Thanks for watching!
I am going to learn from your vedios I am a beginner ...I hope I will learn more ..,🤩
Great! Good luck!
This video is not sponsored by Bellish and all thoughts are completely my own. They have since updated their website a bit from when I started filming. They added a blog tab (www.bellish.co/blog) which includes a few more sock patterns than what I showed, but my problem with not being able to see the majority of sock patterns on the Patterns tab still remains. The Spring Stripes sock pattern is literally made using the same Knit Picks yarn I used here 😭… oh well maybe I should do a part 2. I wanted to clarify some points I made in the video: 2:35 I was discussing sizing and how you cannot customize the pattern sizing on the web version. While it is true that you need the app for full customization abilities, if you select a sweater or cardigan on the website there still is a selection of sizes you can choose from. But again the app allows full customization of a pattern. 4:48 Regarding my point on selling your knits, I was referring to selling the final knitted product, rather than the pattern designed through Bellish. If you cannot sell the pattern, that is understandable, but I was still unclear on whether the final sweater, socks, etc. could be put for sale. I don’t agree with JK’s transphobic comments and I do not wish to monetarily support her or her viewpoints. Trans rights are human rights. As a result, I have decided to make my own “merch” to highlight my love for the series while not supporting her financially. I highly recommend watching Jammidodger’s videos on the whole situation linked below to learn more. Hi! Thanks for the tutorial. Can you just say on which row do you begin the second increase and do you have any more increases after that?
Yes! I began my second row of increases on row 25 and didn’t do any further increases after that. This is just what I did to fit my body best. You may have to do more or less increases, so experiment a bit to see what works best for you. I’ve updated my pinned comment with the row by row instructions as well. Thanks for watching!
Hey I realy enjoyed your video and love how it’s turned out this is exacly what I was searching for but I only have straight needles. Si please can you make another tutorial with straight needles?? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 You deserved more views 😅
Yes! I was wondering if someone would ever ask about straight needles. I'll get started on that pattern right away, but it's probably going to take a while to figure out. Thanks for watching and I'll update you when it's ready!
@@knotarushi Omg thanks you very much and no worries I’ll wait I know it takes a lot of time !!!
@@ambreee2756 Hi, it really took me some time, but here is the straight needle version. th-cam.com/video/UT7v8NTQ7qQ/w-d-xo.html
can you make a tutorial for the rest of your sweater? your video has honestly been the most helpful to me! instead of scrambling across youtube for different vids because they wouldn’t explain in the same one, you got the explained the whole parade in yours-super amazing!
Yes, I am definitely planning on doing that! It won't be my next video, but likely the one after that. It's going to take some time for sure though. Anyways I'm glad I could help and please let me know if you have any questions about the pattern.
Here is the follow-up. It was kind of a fail, but I still learned a lot and plan to make more sweaters. th-cam.com/video/1QMgj3dTYAE/w-d-xo.html
this is such a good video, thanks a lot! Now I finally know how to make the sleeves for my cardigan ^^
Aw thanks that makes me so happy! Please let me know if you need help or have any questions.
You are a legend! I have been knitting my first cardigan and have been putting off the sleeves for a week because it didn’t seem to be working out too well. I ended up unravelling my ribbed cuff about 15 times because I couldn’t get my increases right. The lifeline was the best idea!!! I am making a sleeve with the same amount of stitches so I can follow this perfectly! Thank you so much!!! 😻
Thanks for watching and glad I could help! Please let me know if you have any questions.
In my case, I cast on 24 stitches for my cuff (22 stitches in the video but I realized that 2 extra stitches may be better for me). I continued the ribbing for 22 rows (I added a lifeline at the 20 row point and continued with ribbing for another 2 rows before increasing). In my first round of increases, I did the knit front back increase for each stitch and ended up with 48 stitches. Then for my second round of increases, I increased with the knit front back every 3rd stitch to get 64 stitches. I just kept knitting all the way up for 125 rows to create the stockinette stitch. At this point I did the purl bind off and I was done! My sleeve wrist measurement was 6 inches, my sleeve shoulder measurement was 15 inches and the length of the sleeve was 22 inches. These are the row by row instructions for my sleeve, make your own adjustments to tailor it to your body: Row 1: Cast on 24 stitches (I did 22 stitches in the video but I realized that 2 extra stitches may be better for me later on) Rows 2-23: Knit 1, Purl 1 ribbing, added lifeline at row 21 and did 2 more rows of ribbing Row 24: First round of increases, knit front back each stitch, at the end of this round you should have 48 stitches total Row 25: Second round of increases, knit front back every 3rd stitch (knit, knit, knit front back, etc.), at the end of this round you should have 64 stitches total Row 26-151: Repeat the knit stitch all the way around, this will create the stockinette pattern Row 152: Purl bind off
