I think her approach to retiring would have been a lot different if she got married and had kids when she was younger. That certainly changes a lot of things and makes it way more difficult to retire at age 30, not to mention you focus mostly shifts to your children.

Great story that shows anybody can come into recruitment and make a name for themselves. It does require certain mindsets, methods, and exposure, but really nice podcast. As a curious question, in the UK, do you use different subject-verb agreements? I noticed you say phrases like "you was in". A lot of your phrases do not agree when they are singular or plural subjects.

Great video. Several thoughts 1. We only have face to face meetings with client companies, mostly at their place of business. Meeting with candidates is okay, but the minimum 2 hours it takes to between coordinating, driving to the location, parking, does not add much to the relationship. Candidates want you to get them interviews and offers. With client companies, you can get a retained search, get put on their contractor approved vendor list, be introduced to other hiring managers in the company. Also with client companies, if you are able to do them any favors such as assist one of their family members with their job search or even themselves, then they will be indebted to you. 2. No email to call into a company should ever be cold. You need to reference some connection you have with them or with a current/former employee of their company. 3. Contingent searches with growing companies, on realistic to fill roles with responsive hiring managers should always be accepted as they could lead to retained or contracting roles.
