The Star Wars SEQUELS are GOOD?! The Rise of Skywalker Video Essay
มุมมอง 3.8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Welcome to the final video in my miniseries on why the Star Wars Sequels are Good. This video focuses entirely on Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, and why I believe it's great. However, this is now more metaphorical. The movie is a mess on the surface level, but I believe the collapse of this film has some silver linings. This is a Star Wars video essay that will examine the pros and...
The Star Wars SEQUELS are GOOD?! The Last Jedi Video Essay
มุมมอง 2.4K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Welcome to Part Two of my miniseries on the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. This video is a deep dive video essay analysis of why Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi is Great. From Kylo Ren, to Luke, to Rian Johnson himself, The Last Jedi is the most controvertial, passionate, and meaningful movie in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, and to me that makes it good. The Last Jedi is bad at times as well. I...

Welcome to Part One of my video essay series on the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. I believe the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy is great, and this particular video is going to look at Episode VII The Force Awakens. By far and wide the best film of the trilogy, my video essay takes a look at the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy and examines why it works, doesn't work, is controvertial, and why it's ultimatly great...
How to Analyze a Poem
มุมมอง 226K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Intended for assist students in AP Literature and Composition. Explains how to analyze poems and pick off the important details of a work. Shortly after, there is a demonstration of a thesis statement formula, followed up with an example of poem explication utilizing Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken". Please pardon any spelling errors.
u cud defintely get rid of the music
I really enjoy the simplicity of the language. It was clear and timely, I never felt that you were in a rush to get things done. Great job.
You said “so” too many times in this lesson. Very distracting.
watching this in 2024 love how these are the videos our professors link us to
"Read the peom" that usually helps a majority on the time. LOL
I almost gave up on eng literature but your video inspired me .thank you so much
"...knowing how way leads on to way.."
@@melaniesandsslater41 I know. Those 15 year old high school projects aren’t held to a high enough pedagogy.
The music is so distracting.
@@kaymann8007 I’ll be sure to relay that message to 16 year old me 🫡
Good video but music is loud. I think no music would gave been better. It was distracting.
This can't get any simpler than that
Please for heavens sake take away that song in the backgrund, it makes me think of a depressing music class. Otherwise its a very good video
Bravo pls continue to share other vids about literature n poetry
The force is strong with this one. Thank you general kenobi
Brother made three amazing videos and then left 😭
I’m thinking about making a video about better call Saul. PhD life has had me in a grind but I just noticed this comment and it made me smile
@@benswolo6928that sounds like a great video! You’re really good at doing video essays, hope it all goes well with your phd 😄
what"s with the backround music..........isn"t it a distraction?...when referring to metre.....one thing at a time please....
I love how this channel has 4 videos, one of them is the most helpful video I've seen for AP Literature and the other 3 are just StarWars videos
❤️
I write poetry and I love it and I speak to the ladies at the Dylan thomas museum and they say am a bit like him
Thank you this helped me pass PHYS 20BL
Disagree somewhat with your ranking of the sequel trilogy amongst the other films. I don't think TFA should be anywhere above A New Hope. It's a poor imitation. The OG Star Wars movie wasn't just important for star wars as a franchise, being the first one, but it impacted the entire movie industry in such an incredible way. I wouldn't say better than Empire, but TFA is just a re-hash of the original film with nicer graphics. It's your opinion, I understand, but still i disagree with that judgement. Everything else is kinda in the same spot as I'd place it ( TROS would be at the absolute bottom, even AOTC was far more well structured and executed). But I'm total that's my opinion, not speaking for anyone but myself, but In curious to see how the other side would justify that.
Really annoying music but really helpful content
thank you BenSwolo69
I refuse to change the channel name to anything less stupid at this point solely for the bit of this video
Very helpful. studying literature at A level next year without studying it for my GCSEs, this gives me an idea of how to analyse pieces of text.
Thanks man u saved my life ❤️
Thanks for this excellent explanation. May I ask if you offer online tutoring lessons? Thank you!

This video is honestly really helpful. It made me feel more confident before writing my essay.
i can understand why people thought the humor in TLJ was unnecessary and out of place. however, i didn't really care. if there's a yo mama joke in a movie, i'm gonna laugh at it.
I agree with this video, but I think you're not giving the prequels credit in regard to Lucas explaining the arrogance of the Jedi Order.
Believe it or not I completely agree. I think the prequels are definitly sloppy, but the ideas presented in the prequels have aged like wine in my opinion. Sure, the CG is kinda bad in 1-2, and the writing is pretty awful with the exception of ROTS, but I really like the prequels. After I finish my physics degree in a few weeks I'm considering making a video about the best things in the prequels, but it seems to be an oversaturated market.
@@benswolo6928 Didn't expect an immediate response, good I have more context. I'm happy the prequel hatred has been dead these past few years, as someone who grew up with the prequels, it's cathartic. I know the prequels aren't perfect, but the RLM mill of arguments have never held up over the years. The prequels had demo reel top of the line CGI for their time, even look good now because there's more practical VFX shots than people realize. Lucas is known for wooden dialogue, but when it comes to his vision and themes in his six movies, you can't replicate that without him. I only like the Last Jedi, I'm not a fan of what Abrams has done to the series. At least Rian understand the importance of the prequels, JJ Abrams believes Star Wars is just ANH and Empire and all about practical effects.
I appreciate it! I've learned something on here
A+ grade to this video

I think the the last Jedi was a beautiful way to end Luke’s story.
I may not like The Last Jedi but Rian Johnson is still a fantastic director. As much as I liked Looper, I love Knives Out even more!
Just for the record, Force Heal doesn't break the Lore of Star Wars, it was an established power in the Expanded Universe, one only needs to play KOTOR or the Jedi Knight games to know this, heck read the Legacy comic series, Cade Skywalker, the protagonist has a power known as Dark Transfer using the Dark Side to bring someone back from death. Accordingly, Force Heal was a power only known by a few Jedi, not anyone could just use it, you had to have training in the ability.
I remember it was in KOTOR and just kinda assuming the game needed a non consumable healing mechanic. But I believe you. Could you please tell me why it was so hard to learn?
I don't think our teacher teaches this at school
Although I love the prequels because that’s what I grew up with. I ultimately love the sequel trilogy more than then both the prequels and the originals.
I just downloaded Meriam bcoz of this legit video. Thank u so much for sharing your knowledge. 💯✨
Are you smoking rocks? Because you must be high AF Lucas had his own vision for the prequels. They are made in the eyes of George Lucas. The sequels are not. If you don't understand that then you're are not a star wars fan and stop pretending to be you cuk
Damn bro we got a hater Nah for real I argued your exact point in part 3 talking about how in hindsight the sequels have less soul than the prequels.
Awesome video! Incredibly helpful for my poetry analysis that I have to work on.
The music almost makes me feel cool analyzing a poem
Real gangsters go on to study physics ;)
@@benswolo6928 couldn't agree more.
Video title should be How To BS Your English Teacher.
English teachers hate him!! Learn his trick in 5 minutes
Great video but I find the background music very distracting
It's a bad movie but it's not my least favorite SW movie.
Agreed. We could always have AOTC
@@benswolo6928 TFA is my least favorite. TROS I liked more on a story level.
Would have been an outstanding video. I got half way through and found other similar videos to watch. Why? Why? Why on earth do you obnoxiously intrude on your own instruction with entirely irrelevant, annoying noise mindlessly playing in the background? As an instructor this diminishes your teaching to that of a 15-year-old making a TikTok video. You ruined your own instruction.
Yeah, I was 15. This was a high school project dipshit.
Your teachings are sweet but the background music is not making sense.
you are the teacher i never had
Really good! Thank you.
