McCarthy was right. At a time when the left wanted to centralize power in government to solve the world’s problems. McCarthy saw the evils before others did. He just didn’t explain how communism appeals to youth. He knew, although he didn’t explain how everywhere it’s tried, communism manifests as authoritarian rule.

Just going by memory & general knowledge, several of McCarthy’s factual assertions check out. His sketch of the COMINTERN is basically solid.
