There actually is a video on TH-cam on how to attach and us the buttonholes. You search under buttonholes for straight stitch machines.

Always get a copy of the manual for those old machines. That way you’ll know exactly what it’s little quirks are.

Hi there, I really like this design thanks for uploading this tutorial video as well as the instruction sheet! As a complete sewing beginner, I have managed to get up to around 16:55 in the video and from then on I am really confused and am finding the video a bit unclear. Does the strap go between the facing and the overturned fabric, or between the overturned fabric and the original back skirt? How really do I position the strap in the fabric when I am sewing it (you can't really see in much detail in the video as it is covered by other fabric), sorry I have never sewed a strap before. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks! I’m about to purchase this pattern. I was going to add a tiered skirt to it with some waist ties. I may change the sleeves out to make them shorter too. Lovely pattern! One question. Can I replace the elastic thread with elastic channels? My washing machine eats elastic thread so I don’t really use it

i love my 201k makes my platsic one look like a toy even tho its half decent i havent enjoyed this first couple year learning on a plastic machine soon as i got the vintage made it more fun

Nice job on you refurbishing. ☺ The numbers under Back Tack are the stitch length. Back Tack is reverse.

You mentioned sewing with stretchy fabics...If mixing fabrics, I've heard to sew with the stretchier fabric on the bottom since the feed dogs pull , and the less stretchy on the top since the foot drags . Thanks for the video, its getting chilly for the pups on the Gulf Coast, USA. :)

Thank you for the video! I have a grungy case that I never considered removing the cloth! I think I might try this as well since your case looks BEAUTIFUL! Also there is an app to check the serial number ,search Singer Sewing , I would recheck that machine’s serial number since the design and details( “eye” gold pattern in the middle)looks like a 1950’s machine.

Your pants and top are very beautiful especially in the photos taken outside. I do like the color. You did a good job sewing and picking out an appropriate fabric and also, fitting. Good point about what attracts one to the project in the first place. Making the Caraway blouse and noticed what was cute about it to me was the neckline. It took me forever to figure out the neckline in their picture is actually a larger size that is cut off at the shoulders. Using the pattern size that fits results in a smaller, higher, less attractive neckline. This kind of thing can be confusing at the end of the day.

You done a nice job on the case for it and it looks like you have the machine cleaned up really nice. The vintage Singers are good reliable machines. I have a 99K also, it is a great little machine. I also have my grandmothers 115 made in 1916. That is the machine that got me started into the vintage Singers. I also have a 115J made in 1924, a 15-88 made in 1946 and the previous 3 machines are treadle machines. I also have a 319W made in 1956 a 306K made in 1954 and a 128 made in 1949. They all sew fantastic.

Hey! I want to buy fabrics from homecraft textiles online store and only want samples. Do you know how big the samples are because im not sure if it's worth it to buy $5 samples but i really need them to fit other fabric looks together. And I don't know if the site actually mentions how big the sample sizes are.

Cant stand Lincraft the staff are rude then you have someone speaking over the loudspeaker security to aisle 11 and it makes me feel like a criminal . The Staff are probably harassed by management
