Fan-made 1993 Jurassic Park Model Restoration
มุมมอง 5216 หลายเดือนก่อน
I built this Jurassic Park model and slot car setup for my daughter in 1993 as a Christmas gift after she saw the movie and became obsessed with it. She played with it for a while, and then it was put into storage for the next 30-or-so years. It was stored in an open garage, and the poor conditions took a toll on it and caused a lot of damage. In this video, we show what the Jurassic Park model...

It was very helpful sir. Please be careful.
very helpful. Thank you, sir
The chain is designed to bend in the direction it cuts so if you have tension on the chain when pulling and it's got a bend where it meets the branch it will always dig into the branch because that is the angle it is able to bend at.
My first job was at Pleasure Island. I was on the clean up crew but it was a fun place to work.
Thanks for sharing your old train set with us! It's nice to see how some of these were used and the layouts. Take care!
It's not a blade, it's a chain.
i was born in 1958, my family and i went here several times in the early-mid -sixties. MOBY scared the heck out of me the first time i saw it.
I'm fixing to do the same thing because I don't want to pay a million dollars to have a tree guy come cut two branches for me. They are really high I hope it works, I'm gonna be doing it by myself
This was fun. Thank you! We went to there several times when I was a kid. Wish my memory was better. 😁
I bought a chainsaw blade yesterday so i could do this. After this video i decided not to even bother.... imma just how a guy
Please do not cut anything having the blade running toward you. Super dangerous, you are lucky to be alive. Please watch videos how to cut wood. safety and take this video down to prevent accidents. Thanks.
I got my dad's trains so I got these and still going
That's a good woman. :)
She's a good sport.
That makes the white square bishop way more powerful than the black square bishop, because it can cross the board using 2 paths instead of only 1. Also rooks are quite weak now.
We thought of that with the rooks, that at least initially, they would be much less powerful than the bishops. Possibly early on, a good exchange would be exchanging one of your rooks for one of your opponents bishops since they are much more powerful than the rooks early in the game.
You should be able to move to the area, but the piece dies after an attack.
Thanks for the suggestion. We're thinking of putting together a video with strategies, defenses, and other possible variations on the rules.
That’s a unique variation. Doesn’t add anything too hard to understand.
Thanks for your comment. We were trying to make it different enough, yet still simple to play.
Hello friend, due to the asymmetrical layout of the board it would seem that White may be favoured in terms of mobility, because not only does white get first move, but there is also more board for White to play on "Queen side" in white's half of the board , just as Black has more board area on the King side. Which is to say that there is a C4 square but no C5 ! In any event I reckon it looks like fun and is a clever idea. Good luck with it. Regards from Western Australia. 🔳🔲🔳🔲
I agree with what you are saying. Not only does white get the first move advantage, but the board itself favors white, with the queen side being more open. I think a good change would be to have the two facing 3 squares line up, either queen or king side would work. You would still get the funnel effect, but there would be no advantage for white from it.
Thank you. This is the kind of analysis of the game that we're looking for.
Was this place named after the place in Pinocchio? I wonder if people that were kids when this place was in business were afraid to go there for fear they would turn into a donkey.
The theme of Pleasure Island was famous literature, so we'd guess the name is more likely a play on Treasure Island. It's possible that you're right though, and there is a Pinocchio connection. Hard to say.
@@tubecatproductions Were people that were kids when this place was in business afraid to go there for fear that they would turn into a donkey?
@@mcpeanutful I can't say for sure, but there's a very good chance that some kids had that thought and were afraid to go there as a result.
Wow cool!!
what kind of saw is that called? I’ll need to borrow one from someone and want to know what to ask for. Thank you!
Usually it's called a jig saw, but some refer to it as a saber saw.

Thank you!
As a huge Jurassic Park fan myself, all the small details/refrences to the movie are so cool 🙂
Thanks!
Awesome! I'm always shocked that 1993 was over 30 years ago... A very cool display👍
It really doesn't feel like it was that long ago. Time flies.
woah this is so cool and so detailed
Thanks!
Interesting Video. I didn't know PleasureIsland even existed until I discovered a DVD in my towns transfer station (in New Hampshire). It was left on a shelf and looked interesting, so I took it home, watched it, and was hooked on the historical images! I was only 5 yrs old when the park closed and have no memory of visiting there, but after watching the videos, I wish I had gone there! I was a Big Fan of Popeye and The Three Stooges and I understand both were featured at the park from time to time. Thanks for Posting!
How could you not like this? BIG thumbs up! Beautiful job... BTW, any recommendations on how to get 8mm digitized?
Thank you! To digitize 8mm film, I used a Wolverine Reels2Digital Moviemaker. It's a bit pricey at $300, but if you have a lot of films to digitize, it will probably work out cheaper than having a professional service do it for you. Plus, you can always resell the device when you're finished with it.
@@tubecatproductions Thanks for the advice; based on your results, it looks like a good way to go....
I see Blockbuster Video in the background!!
We had to replace a few buildings that were either lost or not salvageable, so we replaced one of them with a Blockbuster because it would fit the 1993 era of the original setup.
It's Catzilla 😆
What about huge densely leaf-packed conifers, spruces, pine-trees where it's very hard to throw or place the rope over and between branches? Sadly almost ALL tree-cutting videos focus on far less challenging trees with branches largely uncluttered and unobscured by densely-packed leaves and twig-like branches. I now intend trying to use a $20 sixteen-foot telescopic light aluminium pole(courtesy Amazon) and my 19 foot ladder to try and place the rope saw's chain over and in amongst those densely-packed leaves + branches - then saw through it all from the ground aka terra firma. Paul G
In that situation, as you already suggested, a pole saw might be the best option. I'd advise you to be very careful, as with a pole saw, you have to be much closer to where the branch will fall than with a rope chainsaw.
Thank you 🥰
You cannot find help - you put the rope end through a ring 20 feet away and that give you the spreaded pull by Yourself. GOT TO BE REALISTIC BY YOURSELF, cant always find a wife etc. etc.
That's a great idea. I may try that.
Good video, thank you...
I remember one white trash repair from the Tonight Show. The air conditioner failed in a guy's pickup truck, so he took a home window air conditioner, put it in the truck's side window, and ran it from a generator in the back of the pickup truck. Does anyone else remember any other white trash repairs from the Tonight Show?
This video was made for a high school French class project. Did you do any funny videos when you were in school? Or are you planning to do one now?
Piss poor video.

early 2000s
I wish I had video of all the stupid crap I did when I was a kid. We were like Sid from Toy Story. On a side note, this is so early 2000s with that baby doll Good Charlotte t shirt.
This video reminds me of silly things I did as a teenager. Do you remember any silly things you did (or are still doing) as a teenager?
It's a good marriage (or loving relationship) when you can involve the Mrs.
That was ridiculous, in a good way. Happy Halloween! 🎃
Thank you!
#1 had me dying. I LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH
Thank you for watching!
I have a couple more to add. Archibald Leach (Cary Grant), and Farrokh Bulsara (Freddie Mercury).
I have sound. Can you help me with guessing it
the thing that worries me on these "double-sided" blades is maintaining it. only takes a moment for the blade to become dull if it runs into the wrong thing and doesn't seem it'd fit into my Oregon sharpener as a traditional blade would. how are u putting a new edge on this when needed?
Honestly, I can't say. I've only been using the saw occasionally, and I haven't needed to sharpen the blade yet.
Very helpful!
WOW! Pretty Cool Pop Quiz. I love celebrities.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

@@tubecatproductions Thank you. You're the best channel ever. Do you want to do a video about Halloween sounds since Halloween is only 59 days away? I will be honored to guess what they are. And I promise not to scream and get scared.
@@aliciaadcock6406 That's a good idea! I can't really make any guarantees, but I'll see if I can come up with something Halloween themed.
@@tubecatproductions Alright then I'll just wait.
These work very well with 2 people. Its just hard finding someone to help...
This is wonderful to watch. I work at the Wisconsin Auto Museum, managing the 1949 showroom layout replica, and it's always fun to hear people reminisce about the trains they grew up with, but to see old footage, that is always a treat. The 1949 showroom layout pre-dated plasticville, instead having buildings made of paper and wood (And to match the original, replicas made of the same materials are being built, but a nice plasticville village with some classic trains running (Well, classic nowadays in this case) around them, always makes me smile.
