I have just restored a load of video shot on my VX1000E with an anamorphic lens - in Padua, Italy back in 2000. Restoring it with Topaz Video Enhancer AI, it uprez'd to UHD widescreen 3840x2160 @50P and looks gorgeous. I simply cannot believe how amazing that 3CCD camcorder is. The anamorphic lens cost me about £300 back then - I think it was a Century one. The camcorder CCD sensors and colorimetry, as well as dynamic range are just incredible. If only Sony had continued that technology to HD or UHD it would have been just incredible. Fantastic noise free video in low light, with correct colour and superb optical image stabilisation. Takes my breath away today compared to the 8K stuff shot on my Mi 10 Pro phone. Such a gorgeous past memory of a camera going in the right direction. Even in bright sunlight, the dynamic of clear perfectly exposed clouds in a blue Italianate sky with stunning detail from the Italian fresco adorned architecture. Just amazing after all these years! Maaan .. that is a fantastic camcorder! I still have one, and want to get an anamorphic lens for it. Edited in Vegas Pro 19 and using the lens distortion correct to take out the slight edge distortion of the anamorphic lens it looks perfect. The stereo sound off the video is SO clean too. A camera way ahead of its time. I had the VX2001 later and that was good too. BTW, the Sony DV Tape survived perfectly after 22 years!!

These are 6 videos shot separately with a video camera and edited in Final Cut Pro.

I recorded them separately and edited them into one splitscreen video with Final Cut Pro. I guess that should work in any other video editing program as well :-)

klm was okay. friendly crew. screen ok. acceptable food. no delays. full plane. I would fly klm again. I also liked Austrian Airlines (but they stopped their Japan flights) and Finnair.

Love to fly with my namesake to Japan! The views of mountains and sea remind me of san francisco intl

@viennserb the 2 A343 flying for Swiss now (HB-JML and JMK) are still owned by Austrian, just leased to Swiss :) But I think they're never going to fly for Austrian again :)

@clarus79 You are right! It was LH. because Austrian overbooked, I was offered to fly business class with LH on the return flight.

so you just filmed this in 16:9 mode on your vx? Did any black bars appear at the top and bottom of the clip and then you just cropped it out? Did you stretch the footage after you shot it?

@carlosisapimp You can only do it on the European version.

@hairybearz The KLM flight attendant was sitting opposite me and she saw me film the landing, but gave me a friendly smile. Kudos to her :-) The camera I used is equipped with optical image stabilization and that makes such a smooth shot possible.

Open the back door (where you insert the battery). There is a switch and you can find the 16:9 mode in the menu which is accessible through the menu button.

if I could, I would. But I'm using final cut pro on a mac, and I don't have sony vegas or pc..
