That is not true. Actually, they can't charge more from an inspection. They can elect to non-renew a policy though but that would be at the end of the policy term unless it is still with-in their 60 day window. Typically what happens if they see something they don't like they will ask the property owner to make the repair if they fix the issue everyone is happy. If the property owner doesn't agree the company would elect to non-renew the policy. At the end of the day insurance policies are a 2 way agreement that both sides have to agree to.
@@kinneyinsurance for years policies were just renewed. No fine tooth comb I have century oak in back yard. Been there hinder years house built in 1940. No all of the sudden an issue. I have pool 40 years. Do not keep it prestige during winter. Now all of the sudden it’s an issue. I have 35 year shingle on roof now 20 years. Ins had 20 year limite. Paid for better singles but now. To bad. I had 20 year shingles on for 23?years. Was no problem back then. I never had a claim in 40 years. Premium $7000. If I kiss butt of ins company Numbers don’t add up. So self ins. Kinda libetating
I wish more people that rented got this. So sad to see apartment building fires displace people when a $15 policy could’ve avoided homelessness

Isn't insurance about just FIXING things in CASE? Why charge us extra? That is just PART OF IT. My home is a '49. Of COURSE it's not code for 2024. But it's SAFE.
It’s not the insurance company or agent forcing you to update. It’s the city / state that creates local building codes.

No scam about it. It's not the insurance companies requiring building owners to bring an old buildings under repair up to new codes. They are just offering a solution to mitigate the expense.

My new quote for a manufactured home show its actual cash value but shows as 150k. does that mean its a 150k replacement or does it mean its 150k with 30 years of depreciation?
Would need to see the quote to 100% sure but in Insurance ACV has depreciation. It would say RCV (Replacement Cost Value) if it was Replacement cost. Insurance is very state dependent but where we are in VT i'm not aware of anyone that would offer RCV on a Mobile home that old.

File a police report for them to do absolutely nothing with it😂😂😂😂
We'd hope they do something with it but either way the reason you want to file the report is so you have one to send to the insurance company. They will require it to cut you a check for the stolen items.

Weird that this video is a month old and I happen to be looking into this exact situation. Every insurance company is only offering me ~$70,000 coverage (88,000 was the most I found) and it’s a 1,300 sqft manufactured home. I’m like.. no f’ing way even 88,000 will cover the home.
Just buy a suspension kit and slam your car so it's only 1/2 to 1 and 1/2 inches above the ground making it impossible for most Jack's to get under and lift the car
